Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Cruz Roofing returned the deposit on May 18th (not "weeks ago" as [redacted] Cruz alleges in his response).  I spoke with two other roofers  on May 15th who indicated that Cruz should have had my roof done weeks ago, and they urged me to go after him by filing complaints and even calling the police (Cruz received half down for the work in early September 2017).  I have all the emails documenting the various promises he made to get to the roof or to finally return the check--you name it, he promised it.  But there was no action. So while I have finally received the deposit back (9 months after it was given to Cruz), I am not happy with his false assertions.  [redacted] Cruz has a unique sense of the truth, and of how to run a business.  But technically the complaint is resolved, because he finally returned my money.Other roofing companies in the Madison area are behind by about 10 days.  [redacted] Cruz was behind by months.  I rest my case. The real problem with this entire episode is that I obtained a City of Madison Home Improvement Loan to do various projects on my house.  All the other contractors complied in a timely fashion.  The terms of the loan required that the work be completed no later than April of 2018--a fact that we made [redacted] Cruz aware of.  The City of Madison needed to complete the terms of my loan months ago because they hold funds from HUD, and the federal gov't needed to wrap up the loans made in 2017.  None of this mattered to Cruz.[redacted] Cruz paid back my advance on the roof when the City of Madison threatened to take the case to the City Attorneys' Office.  Otherwise I'm not sure I would ever have seen the money.  [redacted]
I thank the Revdex.com for its assistance.[redacted]

Review: The contractor did not provide an invoice that can be accepted by insurance company. I have contacted the roofer many time within last five months, but they have no response.Desired Settlement: The roofer can provide the required invoice acceptable by insurance company.

Response:

I gave the home owner a invoice when I was done with the job. I broke the job down in the invoice. The insurance company got the invoice. That is all I had to do. The insurance company wanted a copy of the invoice I sent them one. Now they want another invoice. Now many invoices do they need. Also I don't know how this a complaint to my bussiness when I did everything right. When I sent the invoice to all the other insurance companies. All my invoices have worked before . I will send one last invoice to the home owner email. Thanks [redacted] from cruzsroofing.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]

It is not about whether the roofer provided the invoice. The problem is their invoice is not acceptable by insurance company. I have made it very clear in my emails to the roofer many times! And my insurance company appraiser also contacted them and left message to him explaining that they asked for what kind of detailed invoice. Whether the invoice is acceptable or not is decided by insurance company! Not the home owner. I also sent him the example what detail cost looks like. The insurance company simply need to see how much paid on what kind of material, the quantity, and unit cost, the gutter length repaired, the cost, the laber cost ....etc. It is a general practice that the business should provide insurance company acceptable invoice.

When I contacted the roofer by phone or email for this, I have never got reply from them after more than five months contacting and waiting. My insurance can not do any other damage estimate because of not receiving this roofer's detailed invoice. What the roofer mentioned about the "break down invoice" was just an invoice showed they did some repairing work and total cost. The invoice did not show how the total cost number comes from as the insurance appraiser contacted them for.

Until 11pm today, I have not recieved any email from this roofer as he promised. And he has been promised like this for more than five months if he accidentally picked my phone call. No actual response yet.

I want to let you know that the complaint ID [redacted] I made on 10/14/13 has resolved. The contractor has taken care of the invoice problem.
