Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution proposed by Long Island Power Solutions is satisfactory I hope to resolve this matter soon by having LIPS install the parts I purchased Sincerely, [redacted]

In response to the above complaint, we offer the following response: On 215, [redacted] contacted us regarding decreased production of his solar array and a problem with a tripping breakerOn 215, Joe M [redacted] responded asking about snow and ice covering panels, as that was the case with the vast majority of our customers from the end of December until almost April of this year [redacted] responded they were not, so on 215, we sent a technician to his homeAccess to the array itself was impeded by snow and ice, however, the technician did reset the breakerOn 315, [redacted] once again called reporting a problemWe once again sent a technician to his home, and once again reset the breaker [redacted] called us again in May still reporting decreased production, which prompted us to call to Enphase technical support (case # [redacted] )Enphase reported that the inverter was bad, and we sent a technician out to replace itUpon removing the non-functioning microinverter, it was discovered that squirrels had caused substantial damage to the wiring underneath the array, including the non-functioning inverterDespite the fact that this type of damage is NOT covered under warranty, Long Island Power Solutions replaced the inverter free of chargeWe also notified the homeowner that the decreased production was caused by squirrel damage and that this was not covered under warranty, although he could make a homeowner's insurance claim to cover the cost of repairWe gave the homeowner an estimate with the cost of repair including the installation of squirrel guards to prevent future damageLastly, we offered to credit the homeowner $185, which, after running production reports and seeing the decreased production due to the damage (watts), was an extremely generous offer (current [redacted] elecrates are about .22/kwh.) I need to note that our estimate to repair the array and install the squirrel guards is for our costWe are not making any money on this; we simply want to resolve this problem to the customer's satisfactionHowever, [redacted] is not satisfied with the pricing and has attempted to negotiate it several times (emails attached)We have had technicians to his home multiple times, but until the squirrel issue is addressed, there isn't much we can do.We have been and are still trying to work with [redacted] in good faith to resolve this issueIt has never been about warranty, but rather, that [redacted] wants us to make the repairs at below cost, which we are unable to doIn the meantime, we have removed another inverter, which has squirrel damage, along with panels that have been damaged, and it is likely that while all this is going on, the squirrels are continuing to cause more damage to the system, none of which is covered under warrantyEmails are attached for your reference Please feel free to contact me should you have any additional questions regarding this matter Best Regards,Julie E [redacted] Long Island Power Solutions [redacted] ***ph- ###-###-####fx- ###-###-####

Access to the array itself was impeded by snow and ice, however, the technician did reset the breaker. On 3/**/15, [redacted] once again called reporting a problem. We once again sent a technician to his home, and once again reset the breaker. [redacted] called us again in May still reporting decreased production, which prompted us to call to Enphase technical support (case # [redacted]). Enphase reported that the inverter was bad, and we sent a technician out to replace it. Upon removing the non-functioning microinverter, it was discovered that squirrels had caused substantial damage to the wiring underneath the array, including the non-functioning inverter. Despite the fact that this type of damage is NOT covered under warranty, Long Island Power Solutions replaced the inverter free of charge. We gave the homeowner an estimate with the cost of repair including the installation of squirrel guards to prevent future damage. Lastly, we offered to credit the homeowner $185, which, after running production reports and seeing the decreased production due to the damage (180 watts), was an extremely generous offer (current [redacted] elec. rates are about .22/kwh.) I need to note that our estimate to repair the array and install the squirrel guards is for our cost. We are not making any money on this; we simply want to resolve this problem to the customer's satisfaction. Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]
From the first sentence of Long Island Power Solutions (LIPS)'s response, it is clear they are not recognizing the severity of this issue.  They mention I called regarding a "decreased production" - I called because the solar panel system had NOT BEEN OPERATING FOR 41 DAYS. I was sold a PV system with full REAL-TIME monitoring, I was not provided this and still do not have this, as witnessed from all the downtimes which I had to report myself. On 2/**/15, there was no snow on the roof.  The technician clearly stated that the breaker had tripped.  He also mentioned that he had thoroughly examined the electrical system and the panels and saw no issue.  A few weeks later when the circuit breaker was replaced, even then there was no mention of bad panel or squirrel damage.  In MAY, the panel was replaced (four months after issue started), and even then there was no mention of squirrel damage.  A week AFTER I was assured all issues were resolved and I still did not see the new panel report any energy production, I was told that "investigative work" has revealed that there is squirrel damage which is not covered under warranty.  It took several months to get a affirmative price quote for this panel and the 2nd panel that went back.I have lost tremendous amount of time dealing with these issues.  I was lost substantial energy production as well, all after I was told during installation that I do not need squirrel guards.  My original Revdex.com complaint outlined that I provided company with real costs of the parts, which was ignored.  I also requested that my two panels and two inverters be returned to me, which has also been ignored in the delayed response provided by the company.
