Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:

This business owner is simply lying. My 15 year old son called this company inquiring about Mopeds and they asked him how much money he had to spend. He told them and he was told of the model that they had in his price range.

They told him that he could buy the moped 2 different ways:
Completely assembled ($75.00 Fee) (Wait a week to receive)
Slightly unassembled (Receive NEXT day)
My son was told that the moped was covered under warrantee regardless of how he purchased it. (That was kind of an important question and no one would hand over $750 in cash to a company for a product that isn't covered by some kind of warantee)

The fact is that the moped came in a crate and the only thing that really needed to be assembled was the handle bars (Wires and everything already attached, just one bolt), 1 tire, the seat and the storage box on the back. My son owns 3 dirt bikes and has rebuilt engines. Putting this moped together took him all of 20 minutes. The part that did not work on the moped was the ignition which required ZERO instillation. The ignition was already installed in the moped when it arrived.

When my son told me of the issues he was having with the ignition, I called this company. I emailed the company and received no response by mid day of the following day. I called the phone number listed on their website and spoke to a woman that was on the road because it is her cell phone number that is listed on the website. She told me that she did not receive the email because CT premium scooter rents garage space from another business that is on the premises. I explained the situation and was told there was nothing that they would do for me unless I was willing to pay them more money. I explained that I don't even have a receipt or a bill of sale and was told that is the way [redacted] does business. I was told to call [redacted] which I did. [redacted] was the one who was belligerent and frankly the rudest person I think I have ever encountered in business. He said straight out that he owes nothing to my son and too bad that the scooter didn't work. I told [redacted] that I was coming to his business and I would bring the defective ignition with me. I told [redacted] that I wanted a replacement. When I arrived, [redacted] was ignorant and rude. He made a phone call to someone else and asked them if he should do nothing or pacify me. I kid you not, he actually made that call right in front of me. After handing me another ignition from his tool box, not even a new one, I thinker him and was leaving the building. Apparently [redacted] noted that I was driving a [redacted] and said to me and I quote: "Your driving a [redacted], too bad to didn't give your son more money so he could buy a better moped"

I have been in business since 1989 and have never seen or witnessed such unprofessional behavior.

There is nothing reputable, knowledgeable or the least bit honest about this company.

It should not matter what the price of a product is. When you sell a product to a customer and are informed within hours that the product is defective, you bend over backwards to make it right. If that means picking up the product and fixing it or worst case replacing it, you do it. You don't take $750 from a 15 year old and leave without giving him a receipt and bill of sale if you don't have something to hide and you don't speak to customers as if they owe you something. You were paid in cash and delivered a defective product. Stand up like a man and take responsibility for that with a smile on your face.

Sincerely,
[redacted]

This customer was inquiring about the least expensive possible unit we could sell him.  We informed him of the ability to buy a boxed (unassembled) unit for less than an assembled unit but there was was assembly required and there was no warranty on the unit whatsoever.  We don't extend...

warranties on the boxed units to save the customers money and also because often time during an inexperienced person attempting to assemble they can cause issues if they dont take their time to ensure everything fits correctly and that the scooter is thoroughly safety checked and tuned properly.  This appears to be precisely what occurred and he called upset after experiencing an issue.  We explained the situation to him again as we did the first call and he became belligerent, insulting and would not stop laughing stating over and over whether he saved money by choosing a boxed unit we should just do what he wanted and that we didn't know how to run a business.  We let him know that we stand behind our product and would absolutely come and pick it up, repair it and drop it back off to him but their would be a fee for these services as he chose a unit with no warranty.  He refused our services although he continued to acknowledge the fact that his unit was not under warranty because he chose the least expensive option but was still relentless in regards to not backing down and said this wasn't over.  Here lies his outlet to vocalize his dissatisfaction and regret for choosing the least expensive option and not wanting to own up to the fact that we were and still are willing to help him but the services will come at a cost.  We have been in business for almost a decade and have the most reliable import scooters on the market.  We are reputable, knowledgeable and most importantly an honest family company it just simply inst fair to be forced into losing money as a result of someone having buyers remorse after choosing a slightly more difficult option in hopes of saving a few dollars.
