Purchased a Luxaire furnace/AC unit for my mother-in-law October 20, The AC was only used for months the following summer because she was out of the country In July of after running about months it failed and stopped cooling The cause was a faulty weld at the Hi pressure switch (a factory defect I was told by the repair company) Luxaire will only cover parts (non required) My Mother-in-law is on the hook for a $repair bill and coolant re-charge I contacted Luxaire to see if they would make any concessions given the situation...they were rude and would not budge The customer service rep told me always purchase extended warranties So I guess there equipment is that poor I had a leak in my AC unit (a different manufacturer) at my own house yrs after installation It was also a poorly manufactured part When I contacted them, and explained the problem, they agreed to pay the repair costs (even though the labour warranty was only one year) I will never by from luxaire again
