Bought a Honda Civic for my daughter in college. Nearly walked away from the sale because of bad communication skills with the price. I needed them to do the DMV paperwork since I was driving the car 1,200 miles to her college the next day. On my drive down I noticed that the sticker for the next oil change was dated for the day I was driving and the miles were also showing as being due. Not a big a deal, it's just an oil change. However, while driving and turning a hard turn into a driveway, I hear grinding in the front end. Turned out to need new control arms. Again, older cars need parts replaced, I get it, just disappointed they didn't say anything.
My biggest issue with my experience these kids running this business, is that they don't know how to run a business. Our first impression was not great, and should have learned from just that. They ride around a tiny lot on a cheap knock off Segway. Makes them look lazy. They dress like they are still in high school, and talk and act like it.
Beyond all of that, I had to call multiple times to find out the status of both my title and my licence plates. I was given a 90 day trip permit and it took all of those 90 days to get the plates. I had to go to a DMV and have them not only look it up in the computer, but make a phone call to find out the status. Turned out they had been completed the day before. I then drove down to talk with Brandon and get my plates. He did not have them in the office, so he called his DMV contact, then told me they were NOT ready and would not be ready until late that day (Friday) and I could pick them up on Monday. I did not believe him, so I called DMV again, and found out they were completed and waiting to be picked up by the dealer. I asked if I could personally pick them up and she told me only dealers can go to that location. So, I went back in and told Brandon he needed to go down there and get my plates. He said he could not leave, even though I was there before him and he arrived late that day. So, I told him, he needed to send one of his employees. Which he finally did.
While standing in his office another customer of his came in who bought a van that broke down just days after he bought. This guy was also upset with Brandon since he and his guys had been giving him the run around for what sounded like weeks. I know almost nothing of the details of that issue, and only share that because it confirmed my feelings about how I was being dealt with.
Brandon kept deflecting the blame of why this was taking so long. He blamed the DMV for them taking a month to process the paperwork. I then took his excuse and said, even if that was the actual case, it had been 3 months since I bought my car, so even if he sold me my car before he had title, then he would have had the paperwork on his desk for 2 months before taking it to the DMV. The reality is, while talking with DMV I found out that they didn't even get the title from whomever they bought from, until after he sold the car to me. Which kind of sounds like he sold me a car he did not even own.
I am not satisfied with the service I received from Brandon and Custom Luxury Motors LLC and I will never buy from them again. I will also let anyone who is buying a vehicle know, the experience I had with them. I spent a vast majority of my day trying to get licence plates before my daughter ended up getting a traffic citation for expired trip permit.
The truth is, I want to see young men like Brandon be a success and own and run businesses. The issue here is, he is skating by and not taking full advantage of the incredible opportunity he has of building a great business to be able to take care of his family. I did not enjoy writing a negative review, but I also feel I needed to tell others to be aware of this dealer and their poor business dealings. These young men have a lot to learn about being proactive and taking care of a customer. They didn't do either with me, or the other buyer I met who was also complaining about lack of service. These young men also lack professionalism. If you want to buy from them, be firm, know what you have to do, and make them do what they are supposed to do, and follow up more often than you want to, be proactive in your dealings with them, and do not take their word on anything, always get it verified.
