The purpose of this letter is to
respond to your letter dated June **, which is identified as a claim for
the value of stolen property
Please
accept my sincere apology on behalf of CubeSmart for any difficulties you may
have encountered at the Property. Please know that we have investigated
the claims in your letter and, while we sincerely regret the loss of any
personal property in the space, we have determined that Cubesmart is not
responsible for such loss under the terms of the Lease
Pursuant
to Paragraph of the Lease, any and all personal property stored within the
Unit is stored at the sole risk of the Customer and is under the exclusive
care, custody, and control of the Customer. Further, pursuant to
Paragraph of the Lease, the Customer is required to obtain insurance coverage
sufficient to cover the loss of any personal property stored within the
Unit.
The
Insurance Responsibility Form on file with CubeSmart indicates that you
purchased insurance from *** *** *** *** *** in connection
with the Lease and, as such, you have the right to file a claim with *** *** *** *** *** to reimburse you for the loss of personal property
within the Unit. As a courtesy, I contacted *** *** *** *** *** to discuss a claim for the stolen property described in your letter and
was notified that a claim had already been submitted for $1,in losses, and
that on June **, *** *** *** *** *** paid $1,in
connection with the claim. As such, CubeSmart considers this matter
closed

Review: Someone broke into my storage unit and stole expensive items worth more than 2K. When asked to view the cameras was told we have limited cameras only in the elevators. I called the police and when they arrived I was told that this happens very often at this location. The company never bothered to inform me this when I moved in the unit and the company doesn't offer security. Anyone including the staff can take what ever they want and nothing is being done to prevent this. I was only told to call the insurance company and make a complaint and you may be entitled to half of the price of stolen items. This doesn't replace my personal items that I have lost nor am I getting enough money from insurance company to purchase the lost items, and to make matters worst they still want me to pay for the time my items were supposed to be secure.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my items back but if not I would like to receive full value of my items so I can replace them. In addition I don't feel I should be charged a monthly fee because my items were not secure.

Unit.
