I had Culbertson's Construction do my roof on my house 3 years ago. This year I sold my house, and of course before selling a house, it goes thru inspection first. The roof did NOT pass! There was 2 spots that were soft, and the inspector thought he may go thru the roof! Those boards did not get bad over a 3 year period! I had another roofer look at it, and he agreed. I called [redacted], and he did not want to come fix his problem, because he said he did it right the first time! And he also said I could get another roofer in to fix it. So...in other words...he didn't care if someone else came in to fix his mistakes! Besides [redacted] how would you know it was done right the first time, you were not on the roof doing the job, your crew was!! I will never go with his company again, nor will I ever recommend him. He doe NOT return phone calls either! Poor Poor business man on his part!! :(

We had Culbertson Construction replace our 43 sq roof in July 2015. They did a great job from the roof inspection to the tear off and install being finished. We received the best bid from them using the finest products. 15 lb synthetic felt, new metal on eves, ice and water barrier on eves and valleys, new soil vent flashings and new ridge vent. They handle most of the major brands of shingles. We had Owens Corning Duration shingles installed. The crew was great and did the job in one day. They cleaned up around the house and even used a magnetic roller to pick up any nails. We are very happy with the job they did.

Review: In October 2011 we signed an agreement with [redacted], owner, to have our back

house roof over porch replaced due to water leakage in the winter. The contract included

a three year labor warranty. In late winter 2013, roof over porch started leaking onto porch bricks

and down back door frame. Finally contacted [redacted] and he said he would be out the next Saturday,

but now show or call.

This past winter (late January and February) 2014, ice dam build-ups caused major leakage so bad

that ice developed outside the back door on porch brick making it very dangerous to walk on. Ice formed

on bath window screen from roof and also on door jamb.

We have called [redacted] twice and also I sent him a message on his website and no response at all.Desired Settlement: The original job was to prevent ice build-up to seep thru the roof of patio.

That has not been accomplished. I need Culbertson Construction to resolve and fix the problem before

winter and before the three year warranty expires.

There was no wording in the contract to address any thing with ice dammings. There is plenty of information on line about the reason for "Ice dammings Formation" and why your roof would leak in the winter time and not in the summer. We could never guarantee that ice dammings wouldn't form. The heat from there home melts the snow. it re-freezes on the way down saturating the insulation with water vapor and as it warms up it melts. It is an insulation problem and the home owners should contact a insulation contractor to install more insulation in the attic.
