I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory with one condition:We will have a check for the balance due in hand when the company arrives at our home to complete work.

We appreciate the opportunity to respond.  We had an issue with the installation and the customer notified us of the issue. Upon receipt of the customer's bill, we asked for and received a signed release so we could process payment.  Payment generally takes up to four weeks to...

process.  We did not realize at that time that we made a clerical error and listed the wrong amount on the release.  Once realized, we required a new release which the customer signed and which was then submitted for payment.  The full payment was processed and will be mailed to the customer for receipt by 5/10/2017.  The customer was called and told this updated information earlier today.

I have received the refund related to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I do not accept their simple dismissal of my concerns. Culligan provided a nicely crafted response, but it skirts the issue entirely - I believe they are obligated to return my plumbing to its original condition. I did not approve work that would permanently alter my plumbing. I ask that Culligan supply a copy of my original contract, with the section highlighted that indicates their charge to me for said plumbing alterations, and also the section highlighted that states they have no responsibility to return piping to its pre water softener state. To clear up confusion about the work needed to return my plumbing pipes to their original state, the two sections of original pipe that they separated to install their system are about 3 inches apart. Culligan took the easy way out by installing the PVC horseshoe in lieu of soldering a copper elbow back in place. Lastly, I have withheld my final payment for two reasons: 1) They have not completed their work to my satisfaction. 2) We have not discussed the fact that the salt tank they removed was full from their last salt delivery. Is that just my tough luck?My suggestion to resolve 1) return the piping to its original state, and I will pay the final balance, including charges for the salt they removed. 2) Waive the final balance and I will have a plumber fix piping myself.

To Whom It May Concern;First I would like to thank the [redacted] for their past business.  When the installation of the water softener occurred, the [redacted] were charged an installation fee to cover the materials used and the labor to install the rental equipment.  At that time, the...

plumbing materials used were purchased by the [redacted] and the ownership of that property became theirs.  When uninstalling a water softener we want to remove as little of the customers property as possible.  Therefore the plumbing is cut at the water softener connection and "looped" at that point.  In this day and age, with the cost of copper continuing to increase, copper is generally not used in the construction of new homes other than the direct inlet into the home.  At that point the plumbing on new construction is converted to  PEX or CPVC, both being certified by the [redacted].  We looped the plumbing at the [redacted] home with an NSF approved coupler.  If the [redacted] would like this "loop" replaced in copper or cut out and a new loop installed up at the ceiling area of the plumbing in copper, we can do that.  We first would ask the [redacted] to bring their account with us current by submitting payment for the balance due of $132.22 and also compensate us for our time and materials to reconfigure their plumbing. If there are further questions or concerns feel free to contact me at your convenience.Sincerely,Russell R. On a daily basis we work to do exactly what we have told the customer we would do.  Sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances that is just not always possible, even though we strive to make it happen.  The Cooler has been picked up and a check request has been created for any monies...

[redacted]---3/27/17RE:ID[redacted] I want to thank you for your quick response and help with the issue I had with Culligan Water.  Their response was immediate the next morning on 3/2417.  As of today, 3/27/17, the issue has been taken care of in accordance to the agreement I had with them. I spoke with Thomas and he has been very helpful and courteous and resolved the problem by this morning, so I would like to dismiss the complaint against them. Again, thank you for this issue being taken care of right away. [redacted]
