Culligan Water Conditioning Products Reviews (1)

Review: I put a 5 Gallon bottle of water on my water cooler and the water all drained out onto my floor. When I contacted the Green Bay Culligan store, I was told that it was my cooler that was defective and that is why the bottle of water had drained out and poured all over my floor and went through into my basement. I also was told that they would do nothing because that bottle was delivered in my November delivery and that since I was scheduled for delivery in 4 days, they were going to do nothing and I should contact my homeowners insurance. I contacted the culligan store in Shawano, where I purchased the cooler from, and they walked me through checking to see if cooler was bad. After following their instructions, it was determined the cooler is working fine. I was told that the bottle of water more than likely had a hairline crack in it and that is why it did not form a seal and poured all over. Upon contacting the Green Bay store again, the manager said that I had told her in the previous call that I wanted my flooring replaced, etc. I never had asked for that. She then asked what I wanted. I told her that I never asked for new flooring and that my homeowners insurance was not going to cover a defective bottle of water from Culligan and that all I wanted was the water to be replaced at no cost. She then told me the bottles are my responsibility once delivered and that if there was a crack in the bottle it would have been noticed by the delivery driver. I told her that I work during the day, am not home when they deliver water, and also that not all hairline cracks leak. There was no water leaked on my floor while it was stored inside my house after delivery. That does NOT mean that there was not a hairline crack. She then told me that since the bottle was in my care, it was my fault that the bottle got the crack. A t this point I was getting quite upset with Culligan. I told her that there could very well have been a crack from the delivery person putting the bottle on my porch and it is not my fault that I am at work when they choose to deliver the water and that it is Wisconsin and it is cold from October, November through May. The manager got upset with me and told me that it is my responsibility to make sure the bottles do not freeze. (As a side, I always bring the bottles in when I get home, but do work during the day and do not have anybody that can bring the bottles in for me at the time they deliver them because I live alone.). I told her that when I get home from work, the bottles are brought in the house immediately on delivery days. I do everything within my power to be sure the bottles don't freeze. I asked that the bottles be delivered at a time when I am home, and she refused to have them delivered later in the day. She again asked what I wanted and I told her that I wanted reimbursement for the bottle that was faulty. She agreed to the reimbursement, and then said it would be best if we "part company", and was going to terminate the call. I then said, "So I am going to get the money for the water and when will I get my deposits back?" She very rudely told me that I would get my deposits back when they got the bottles back. I then told her that I would expect a check be put in the mail by Tuesday. At this time, she hung up on me. The customer service at Culligan in Green Bay is poor at best, and if they sell a defective product, they blame the customer for the defect and, instead of fixing the problem or working with the customer, they cancel service.Desired Settlement: I would like the delivery to continue and I want a formal apology and reimbursement for the defective product that I had paid for.
