Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:Hofmeister Plumbingcharged very well for the original installation and cost for a [redacted] heating andcooling system unitAnd, labor cost was paid every time he stepped foot in myhouse The totaltime spent between the removal and installation of the fan wheel was hour and minutesAnd, to have a fan wheelreplaced within a year period is very questionable – the unit is not even 3years old The main issueis to have paid for labor cost again for a problem we thought hadbeen resolved and for it to have been a loose nut is inexcusable So I do understand very well that HofmeiseterPlumbing needs to take any responsibility for workmanship Regards, [redacted]
The work that was done on said address was completed for the previous homeowner It was at that time that they (the previous owner) had the work inspected and to our knowledge it was approved and a Certificate of Occupancy was issuedIf there was an issue, it would have been addressed with the previous owner and a Certificate of Occupancy would not have been issued and they would not have been able to sell the houseIt is our position that we are not obligated to the new homeowner given the facts
At no time did we inform the customer that the hot water heater was defective We put a call into the manufacturer's representative and gave them the client's information We were unaware that the customer independently contacted a manufacturer on her own In general practice, the manufacturer gets in touch with us to report any issues and we come out and make the repairs and/or alterations The onus is on the customer due to the fact that the customer called on her own and additionally had another company effect repairs/changesAs a side note, there would have been additional charges had we were advised by the manufacturer to install any other necessary equipment
We have been in contact with the customer on multiple occasions We had a conversation on 9/25/where we offered to compensate Mr [redacted] $which he agreed to ending this matter He understands that due to his impatience, and the fact he had another company service his unit, his warranty with us is null and voidThe customer had no reason to enter a complaint against us

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: [redacted] is not sending a free replacement to me without charging meThey, understandably, said it is not necessary to scratch it to take it off and that whoever scratched it is responsible, not themI have a signed invoice from the Hoffmeister employee stating he would order the replacement and have it shipped directly to my houseSee attached invoiceAlthough this person may have years working with diverters, another local plumbing company came and PROPERLY re-installed it within minutesI wonder how many years of experience that person had? I had to pay that plumbing company the $service fee for a minute job to finish the job that Hoffmeister did not completeHe had no issues re-installing and said whoever had difficulties with it must not have been in the business for long.So again, I am looking for the replacement piece that HOFFMEISTER scratched and said they would REPLACE in addition to a $refund since I paid Hoffmeister $The piece they replaced was $however they were not able to properly re-install the handle and I had to hire someone elseHoffmeister may blame it on the age however, again, I have another local plumbing company that did it within minutes Regards, [redacted]
Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Fact: Hofmeister Plumbing can not or will not produce the invoices to back up their claim that they did the work for the prior owner Fact: When contacted, Hofmeister Plumbing has been unwilling to address the issue claiming they never did the original work and therefore would not take responsibilty for bringing the units up to code Fact: The CO was issued CONDITIONAL to the HWH and Furnace being permitted and inspected retroactively Therefore even if Hoffmeister Plumbing DID do the original work, they did so illegally without permits and incorrectly This is not a new sink or a back patio These are the major systems of the home and, having been installed illegally and improperly, endangered all occupants of the property Fact: I have an email from the Building deptadministrator wherein it is confirmed that the prior owner admitted to the Building inspector that the units were installed without permits Hence if Hoffmeister did do the installation, which it denies doing, it did so illegally Fact: The units were installed IMPROPERLY and therefore failed inspectionIf Hofmeister did do the work then they failed to do so to code If they did NOT do the work then they opened the permits FRADULENTLY and are still responsible for the units Fact: There remain OPEN permits under Hofmeister name and seal against my property The permits are an attempt to retroactively permit their illegal work This is FRAUD Fact: this is FRAUD pure and simple Lots of supporting paperwork Regards, [redacted] ***
