On Saturday August 19, we adopted an week old puppy from Last chance Animal Rescue in Waldorf MdA day after we brought her home she started vomiting and having diarrhea and looking sicklyWe took her to the emergency vet where she was diagnosed with parvo virusThe gave her fluids and meds until we could take her back to the rescue vet the following morningMy bill was $I took her to the rescue vet the following morningThey had us remain in the car and treat her, despite the sweltering heatMy year old daughter and year old son were with meShe again tested positive for parvo virus at their clinic as wellThey gave her more fluids and meds and sent us home because she had eaten the previous evening and said she was doing betterHowever she was notShe would not eat the rest of the day after thatA vet Tech told me that because our puppy had parvo and had likely caught it from their facility I could petition the board for a refund of my adoption fees back a
I rescued a dog from this organization and paid a $rescue fee plus $in accessories and supplies In addition I have had to pay another $in vet bills On their website the specifically state they would take checks, credit cards or cash Upon arrival, this was not the case and they only accepted cash The dog was advertised as clean, healthy, up to date on all shots, and extremely friendly with other animals and kids This was far from the truth and an inaccurate representation When I received the dog, it was filthy and I had to have it professional groomed before bringing it into my house The dog was not kid or pet friendly The dog was sick with kennel cough and other illnesses which in turn spread to my other dogs I returned the dog and all accessories that I paid for back to the organization I asked for a refund and I was refused They said all refunds must be submitted to the Board of Directors in writing which after additional investigation consists only
