Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
The response was untrue I was fully aware that they would authorize my card for $and then charge the amount of the rental to the same card That is not what happened They charged, not authorized, charged my card $ Then tried to authorize the same card $and it was rejected Then they authorized a different card and charged me to release it I know they say that they refunded the charge but I could not get it off my card I had to spend hours on hold and then explain to the bank what happened Since it was a charge and not an authorization they could not just remove it I had to report it as a fraudulent charge to my bank and then it finally went away I should not have to spend hours of my time fixing their errors It is not fair to me as the consumer I work in a place where I charge people thousands of dollars at a time and I have made errors before I call the processing company right away and address the error because it is not fair to my customers to make errant charges of hundreds or thousands of dollars I guess maybe I am just different than most people because I expect myself to get it right for my customers and if I do make a mistake I take it upon myself to make it right I never just make a mistake and tell my customers that they have to fix it
Again, they were not rude or mean, they just make a mistake I am just really annoyed that I had to spend so much time fixing something that wasn't my fault

To Whom It May Concern,This is in response to a claim from Mr*** *** #***.On 6/4/Mr*** rented a jet ski from usWe verify a $securitydeposit on a credit cardWe do not charge this it is an authorization only so to saythe $is placed in syber space at the end of
the rental period if no damageis done to our water craft that deposit is refunded less the rental fee and gasWeare a seasonal business and we were just getting up and running for the summer.The clerk pushed the wrong button on the credit machine by accident Wereversed the charge and completed the authorization he rented the water craft forhoursWhen he was done he came up and decided he wanted to pay withanother card we explained to him that we had to run to release the $750.00this is not our rule it is just how the merchant service system worksWe chargedthe *** and released the depositI have called merchant services times tomake sure we released the $we have totally released his depositWe thenran a different card for a total of $which was the jet ski rental for $150.00and $in gasThis charge was made on a complete different system (thesquare) they don't have the authorization only capabilityMr *** called upsetabout the $being held I tried to tell him it was his bank holding the fundsthat we don't have the capability to hold funds once that Penney is ran but he saidhis bank said it was us which it is not I offered to talk with his bank but told him hewould have to have someone at his bank call me once he gave them our phonenumber, my name and his authorization to talk with me about his accountI toldthis would have to be done because no bank would talk to anyone but the cardholder about the card holders accountHe got upset again and said he had spentenough time on hold or talking to his bank and didn't want to be botheredanymoreAgain I told him his bank wouldn't talk to me if I called them.In closing the clerk did make a mistake which we corrected right away and weapologized forHe is upset at the wrong party it is his bank holding the funds andwe can not release what we don't haveWe are very sorry for this situation and ourpart in it but again it was an honest mistake and was not done fraudulentlyWehave been renting water craft for years with very few problems.Respectfully,Sandie *C***
