I contacted Drew C of *** NJ 07932 - tel.# to get home insurance quotation for my home (*** NJ 07733) on December 14, 2017. I also contacted *** for quotation. I liked their quotation and insured my house with them duly signing the application for. Same evening, I received email from Drew that he is issuing me a binder for my house through *** I responded right away and called also that I am not interested in insurance as I have bought from *** and told him I just asked for quotation and not coverage. After few weeks I received a bill from *** for $125, I contacted insurance company and Drew saying that I have never signed application for coverage and I am insured with ***. *** Customer Service person directed me to talk to Drew. I contacted Drew and he said you have to Docu sign to cancel which I did on 1/21. I was told by him you do not have to pay as you never signed application. I got dunning notice in the mail on 2/26/2018 that I owe them $125 for the coverage 12/14-1/21. I have contacted again both of them. *** has checked the database and confirmed that I am insured with *** as of 12/14. But Kim their representative insists I have to pay $ 125 whereas their authorized agent says I do not owe. I feel that I do not have to pay *** as our house is insured with ***. I have been told by Insurance Commissioner’s office that a property is not insured by two companies. Please help me to resolve this issue.

My home has been insured by Cumberland for 40 years. There were never any claims until my house caught fire.I filed a claim and they would not pay the full amount of damages. My policy covered my home for $50,000 more than market value. I had to retain an attorney. And was unable to live there for 2 years. This company is a disgrace and I would not recommend them to ANYONE.
