Curam College of Nursing Reviews (2)

I began they're LVN program to finish my 3rd semester in 2013. I knew a lot from previous school [redacted] college. The other students did not know as much as I did. Yet they treated me like I didn't know anything. Mr. [redacted] and Ms. [redacted] set me up for failure on purpose. Mr. [redacted] pulled out his phone and started to record me without my permission in the middle of me performing a skill check offs, a catheter on a [redacted] that he picked out. Perverted much? And when I asked for him to turn it off he got annoyed with me and then told me I failed. What kind of school is this? I paid $10,000.00 for what? I thot this was a Nursing school. The instructors there are mean and can't teach. Not to mention mr. [redacted] who is a pervert and will fail you if you don't let him record doing a [redacted] catheter. Yet They Pass Other Students Who Score Badly On Tests. This school needs to be shut down because they are passing students who do not have skill to be a nurse. Students who are graduating from Curam College Will Hurt A Patient One DAY For Lack Of Knowledge From THE Se It PROFFESSORS.

Review: Sacramento Curam College failed to properly train and prepare students for the CNA exam. As a student there the instructors were unapproachable.

To whom it may concern

I am writing this letter in regards to several issues that I have been presented with while attending this school. Before I made my decision to make Sacramento Curam College my school of choice for the Certified Nursing Assistant program, I had actually spoke with a few other locations but the scheduling seemed to be the biggest issue for me. I had actually paid for another college which at this time I will not disclose, which they then canceled the course a day before it was suppose to start.

When I actually found this particular school and spoke to one of the representatives [redacted] I thoroughly explained what I had already been through and what my expectations were for the program. [redacted] ensured me and another classmate of mine that everything was going to be fine in so many words. From that point on up until the start date things all changed.

On the first day of school I noticed a lot of things that were not mentioned when I first made initial contact with [redacted] Things such as having first-aid CPR rather than healthcare, paying a $5.08 per hour charge for every hour you are late after the fourth absence, nor did I have any idea that there would not be any training before going to the nursing facility.

For me, I tried to tell myself after the first week that things would get better until about the second day of clinical. As a class of about 28 students I believe that even with two instructors they could not handle us as far as trying to accommodate every last one of us. The instructors level of frustration, irritation, and not really being in the mode to teach showed.

By June 28, 2013 after already making my second installment to the school I had began to worry and stress about whether or not I would be ready for the red cross test. Which whenever this was mentioned the only answer you received is you should know, but how can you tell a person what they should know if you have not really took the time to teach your students anything other then videos and test.

Now as we get to the last two weeks of class, the instructors are putting the pressure on everyone to start getting checked-off on skills. Now the first skill that I tried to accomplish getting checked-off was bed making which turned into an epic fail because my instructor [redacted] became so irritated because I was asking questions and trying to inform her on what I was confused on she then took over and said that she would not be checking off anyone that wasn't in her group.

[redacted], [redacted] and [redacted] all have different ways of teaching and I believe that [redacted]'s methods are more clear and that ultimately she wants her students to learn. [redacted] and [redacted] I feel are not able to fully dedicate their time and are only worried about cover themselves, which are words that came directly from [redacted]'s own mouth in the day room where we feed residents. This statement was made in reference to the bed making incident. The level of irritation that you see first hand when dealing with [redacted] and [redacted] is so bad that it makes them very unapproachable.

Now the incident that finally led up to this letter took place on June 5, 2013 at the [redacted] nursing facility. As I entered the building early that morning several of my classmates were approaching me stating that [redacted] and [redacted] said that I did a no call no show on Wednesday June 3, 2013, which was not okay. The fact that I had been sick and notified [redacted] of the issue and then she turned around and made a statement like that and not only that what about privacy.

After that moment I was just completely annoyed by the situation and still went outside with my group to get my assignments for the day with [redacted], who then stated that he didn't know if I would be able to stay for the day due to the no call no show and that he needed to speak with [redacted]. I then informed [redacted] that I have the text messages to prove that I did inform [redacted] on the absence. So after that I didn't know what to doDesired Settlement: $600.00
