Curious Critters Early Learning Tree Reviews (1)

11/28/2O?-------------------Revdex.com of Metro Washington, DCThanks for allowing us the opportunity to respond to Mrs***'s allegations of abuse and neglectMaintaining a reputable standing in the childcare community is very important to usWe've often looked to the Revdex.com for unbiased reviews of
companies we sought to do business with and trust that the reports and responses are communicated fairly.Curious Critters Early Learning Tree (CCELT) takes pride in providing an exceptional all-inclusive childcare experience at affordable rates in a healthy, safe and fun learning environmentOur team is comprised of fully licensed, caring and committed professionals who work hard to care for all our children and their families.CCELT terminated the service agreement with the ***-*** family because we decided continuing care for this family was not in the best interest of our CompanyWe have documentation to prove that Mrs*** intentionally lied to our administrative team about her and her children being hospitalized with a highly contagious virus that she claimed was passed on to them while in our careMrs*** admitted to our owner/director that her mother (the children's grandmother) filed "anonymous" complaints with the Prince George's County Health Department & the MSDE Office of Child Care about an "epidemic" at our centerPrior to the report, we acknowledged that there were a couple of cases of a communicable disease affecting our centerWe notified our parents both verbally and in writingNotices were also posted on Our doors, website and bulletin boardsWe offered our parents advice taken from the CDC on how to identify the symptoms and ways to prevent the spread of the virusWe completely closed our center for hrsafter thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing the entire school in an effort to protect the health of our children and their familiesIn response to the ***-*** family's complaints, both agencies dispatched agents to perform random inspections of our facility and determined that we were in full compliance with all sanitation requirements and had been actively following the guidelines of the CDC to prevent the spread of the virusWe were commended for being proactive in our approach to stop the spreading of the virus and for being open and honest with_? our parentsWhen Mrs*** attempted to drop of her children after their absence due to illness, as with all of our families, we requested a note from their physician/hospital with the diagnosis, treatment and date the children were safe to returnShe was unable to produce that document and we refused to allow them back without it, When we pressed her for more details about the "hospitalization" she had previously reported to us, she brought in discharge papers from Children's National Medical Center dated during the timeframe she claimed her family was ill with HFMDThe documents showed that one of her children was being treated for seasonal allergies and an upper respiratory infection (URI) and the other child diagnosed with Bronchospasm (wheezing) which may have been triggered by allergies relating to animals, food, pollen etcWe know that the family has pets in the homeThe children were seen in the ER but not admitted into the hospital for days as she noted via text to our administratorWe forwarded all of the documents, to the PG Health Department whose investigating agent contacted the hospital directly and found that the family was never diagnose nor treated for the Hand, Foot and Mouth virusWhy the family would claim such a thing we have no clue.As stated in her complaint to your agency (Revdex.com), Mrs*** filed a 2nd "anonymous" complaint with the Office of Child Care stating that we allowed children to be hurt and did not report the incidents to the familyAgain, this report is falseWe have copies of incident reports detailing all the falls, scrapes and boo-boos her children endured while in our careThese reports are signed by Mrs***The MSDE licensing Agent was dispatched once again and conducted a random inspection of our indoor facility and 6,ooo square foot outdoor playgroundWe were asked for all written reports of all children during a specific time frameIncluded in that file was one for the younger *** child, the incident report was unsigned because the grandma who picked up on the day of the incident refused to accept it and was asked to leave the facility after she became belligerent in front of our preschool children, other parents and staffWe apologize if asking Grandma to leave embarrassed her, I believe she would have been more embarrassed if we were forced to call the police and she was taken out of the building in handcuffs in front of her grandchildrenAfter the inspection, we were advised that while our facilities and grounds were found in good working order, we might want to include sweeping acorns and leaves to our weekly cleaning/maintenance routine to prevent any possible slip, trip and fall hazard outdoorsWe took that advice and now routinely sweep the stairs and walkways leading to our tree lined play spaceThe *** children are beautiful, intelligent healthy young boys who run, play and occasionally fall while doing so, Our remedies to the documented incidents ranged from band-aids to an ice pack and always a dose of TLCNever was there a need for an ambulance or even a call to the medical advice nurse. After we terminated care to the family, we promptly notified the Social Services agency who supplements childcare cost for the family advising them of the exact date the children were unenrolledUnlike Mrs***, we would never jeopardize our business and or reputation by lying to a government agency and receiving funds were are not entitled to.It's puzzling to us how Mrs*** could make such strong allegations of mistreatment, neglect and abuse yet it was Curious Critters who terminated care to her family, if it were my children being mistreated, I would have pulled them out of the center immediately and contacted child protective services to file legal charges but she opted to contact the local Revdex.com to try to ruin our reputationShe calls the police to our facility on a Friday night after we were closed for the day because we refused to sign a form so she could continue to receive benefits from the State of Maryland but she never called the police to report her kids being abusedWhat sense does that make? As for a monetary refund to resolve this complaint, absolutely not, if anything, the family owes us for repeatedly paying their reduced tuition late late fees we waived because we believed the tales of the family's financial hardshipPerhaps the ***-***'s are concocting these lies in hopes to eam them a cash payout? We are not in the business of paying off disgruntled customersWe will however work to resolve any legitimate complaint filed by any of our families who are not happy with our services. We wish the family the best and encourage them to be positive role models for their impressionable young childrenRaising responsible, respectful decent people start at home.Sincerely,Kimberly W*** Owner
