Review: In December of 2013 I dropped off my watch at Currey Jewelers to be repaired. The assistant who was working there at the time went into the back and came out and said it would be around $75 to repair the watch. I agreed to the price. I do not remember the assisntat giving me a receipt and it was at the holiday season and I was very busy and so I left. I called sometime in February and the same assistant answer the phone and she said that my watch was third in line to be fixed and that they had to order the parts. I thanked her and disconnected the call. I then called back on I believe August 4, 2014, and a different assistant answered and I explained who I was and why I was calling. She checked the store and told me that she could not find the watch and that she would have the jeweler call me back. He never returned my call so on August 11th I called back and the same assistant from earlier answered and I told her why I was calling and she did not know why the jeweler had not returned my call. I told her I would be in to pick up my watch since it was obvious that as a customer I was being ignored. The jeweler did manage to call me aback after that but I did not answer I just wanted my watch back. I arrived at the store and the assistant said that they could not find the watch but that she would call me back the next day by noon. She also stated that the assistant that worked at the time I brought my watch in was no longer employed there and that the had left the store in total disarray and they were still in the process of cleaning up. Naturally, no phone call the following day so I called back and the owner answer and he was belligerent and degrading and pretty much told me I was lying and that he never had the watch. He stated that he was more interested in his plummer and fixing his apartments than me. That would be considered fraud. I work for the U.S. Attorney's Office and I certaintly would not even considering doing something like this and risk losing a job that I enjoy doing.Desired Settlement: I do not know the name of the watch (or any of my jewelry for that matter) but all I want is my watch back. This watch was purchsed at this establishment over 33 years ago and was purchased by my husband (my boyfriend at the time). I believe that my watch is somewhere in this establishemnt and I just want it returned. It is a gold watch with the band and crystal in tact and there is also a fine chain connected to it. The back came off but all the parts were there when I dropped the watch off.
