Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/04/05) */
Thank you for bringing the customer's concerns to us. When the customer purchased his vehicle, we showed him an AutoCheck Vehicle History Report, which lists 0 reported accidents. The report (attached) is signed by the customer. Since the...

complaint was received, we reran AutoCheck and CarFax, and again there were no accidents associated with the vehicle. Moreover, when the customer purchased the used vehicle, he signed both an acknowledgment that the Vehicle was sold "As-Is" with warranties disclaimed and a "We Owe" document that the deal did not include any service work, as none was owed. Both documents are provided with this response. The Buyer's Guide listing the car As-Is is also provided. If the customer has accident information to the contrary, we will be happy to look at any documentation supporting his claim. Additionally, as a courtesy, if the customer would like us to arrange for an inspection of his vehicle, and arrange for any necessary repairs at a discounted rate, please have him call [redacted] at [redacted] Thank you.

Thank you for bringing the customer's concerns to us. Although Greater Chicago Finance Company ("GCFC") denies any wrongdoing, they have agreed to delete the negative reporting and notify the Credit Bureau. The finance company is also not going...

to pursue any default against the customer. GCFC has the title to the vehicle. Please ask that the customer call XXX-XXX-XXXX and ask for Office Manager, [redacted] to obtain the title. We trust that this resolves the customer's issue.

The customer purchased a 2011 Chevy Impala from our dealership on February 23, 2015. She signed a "We Owe" which did not...

indicate that the dealership owed her any work, service or otherwise. Due to a delay in making her downpayment, a demand letter was sent and upon full payment the customer's deal was recontracted with a new date (3/30/2015). The car was purchased without warranty and the customer signed a Buyer's Guide acknowledging that the car was being bought "As Is" and that she would be responsible for the cost of any repairs. When she came 8 months later with a transmission issue, we were able to get her a discounted rate for the work. The car had an additional 17,000 miles on it since the time of her purchase. We have assisted the customer with the reduced rate; unfortunately as she is not under warranty there is not much more the dealership can do, which was explained. The purchase occurred 8 months ago, the customer put 17,000 miles on the car during that time, and she signed acknowledgement of no warranty.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2015/11/10) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
It's hard to say what type of warranty I had when it constantly changed. First, Will your salesman said I had one. Then he said it expired. Then he told me I never asked for a warranty. You guys (Currie Motors) didn't help me get a lower rate I talked to Auto Clinic when Jeremy didn't keep his word and fix my vehicle as he assured me Currie Moyers would take care of everything. The salesman Will even called my mom [redacted]) and told her that both of her daughters cars would be tooken care of because my sister was having problems with her car as well . She also got her car from Currie Moters. It also seems I was tooken advantage of. My mom and sister both took their boyfriends with them and their warranties are a year or better. Why is that. They told me they (Currie Moters) would fix my car. I constantly tried to contact Jeremy after he promised to take care of the repairs. He never responded.

As we stated, the customer did not have a warranty on her car, which is clear from the documentation signed by the customer. On the purchase date, the customer signed a Buyer's Guide acknowledging that the car did not have any warranty, and was being bought "As Is" and that she would have to pay for repairs. She did not purchase any service contracts. After only 8 months, the car had an additional 17,000 miles on it. We are sorry if the customer feels taken advantage of, but the circumstances here do not warrant any payment for repairs by the dealership. When our General Manager reviewed the deal, he made this clear to the customer but offered to get her a reduced rate for the repair work.
We do not agree with the customer's complaints; however, as a matter of good will, we will agree to reimburse her $200 towards the repairs. If we provide any such reimbursement, it will be with the understanding that it is the only additional assistance we can provide and we will require a signed release to that effect. If the customer wishes to take advantage of this offer, please ask her to contact Jeremy [redacted] at (XXX)XXX-XXXX to make an appointment when she can come to the dealership to complete the resolution.
