Curry Acura Reviews (3)

Review: My wife ([redacted]) negotiated a lease for a 2014 Acura RDX ,with all wheel drive,15000 miles per year for 36 months for $400.00 a month all taxes included in the lease payment with a $1500.00 cap cost reduction. This lease was negotiated through Acura salesman, Richard [redacted], on Thursday [redacted] 2013. I visited the dealership same day around 7:30 pm and met with [redacted] to test drive the vehicle and and go over the details of the lease which were all confirmed as stated above, we had an extensive discussion as to the 15,000 annual miles to which we both agreed we would never be able to lease a vehicle for anything under the 15,000 miles. I told Mr. [redacted] that my wife would finalize the lease the following day which was Friday. My wife drove an hour to the dealership and arrived at approximately 12:30, filled out the credit application waited approximately 45 minutes and was then told by Mr. [redacted] that they were not able to honor the 15,000 annual miles and would have to pay an additional $45.00 dollars per month. This was unacceptable to both me and my wife. [redacted] apologized stating he did not do business like this and it was a mistake. Seeing the disappointment in my wife, he asked her to wait a few more minutes while he went to get the manager. The manager never took the time to come out of his office. The manager told him to tell her it was $45 more per month and that was it. She left. All parties knew the distance of this dealership in addition to "ALL" the details which were verified several times prior to finalizing. This was a blatant case of "Bait & Switch!" The dealership was well aware of the deal and confirmed it prior, yet at the the final moment, tried to add an additional $45 per month with no sign of remorse for what they called a mistake. It was quite obvious this was planned. Prior to filing this complaint I contacted Curry Acura and asked to speak to a manager and was referred to [redacted] who said he was made aware of the situation but remained unapologetic and offered no resolution.Desired Settlement: Honor the deal which had been agreed upon.

Response:

The salesperson made an error in the quote by using 12,000 miles to calculate the lease. I called the customer to apologize and although I could not offer the $400 payment for 15,000 miles per year through our lease lender, I offered to include free maintenance for the entire lease term.

Mr. [redacted] understood but felt that the additional $45 payment put the RDX out of his range. He said he would think about it.

I met with my staff and discussed his concerns and talked about procedures so this doesn’t happen again.

As an award winning dealership and “9 Time Acura Precision Team” accomplished dealer, Acura's highest honor, it is not our business model to deceive our clients.

Review: Trapped on a sale scam… It happens that I went to pick up a 2011 Acura MDX stock number: [redacted] that I felt in love with on the day we agreed on. After waiting about 3 hours, and done removing my trading vehicle plates I finally got to sit down with my loan rep… sign here and sign there we get to the “show me your insurance papers” part to then realize that the car I am signing papers for is a 2010 Acura MDX stock number: [redacted]. Hold on a second everyone says… I go out to see the 2010 and pressure on my own time and running out of patient I accepted to take this 2010. I have the vehicle for over a week now and checked the CarFax to notice the reason why they were pushing this car out of their inventory. In 3 year this car had 2 owners already, gas consumption is super high for this model, and transmission is not on its best on low acceleration. I feel this wasn’t a mistake, but a well planned sale scan to move their less desirable, high mileage, older vehicle out of their inventory and I guess I just felt for it.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the opportunity to exchange this vehicle with my original selection or something close.

Review: When leasing my Acura TL the agreed upon mileage per year was 12000 miles. When the finance officer wrote up the invoice he incorrectly put down 10000 miles per year. I did not discover this until many months into the lease term. I then reached out to them to bring the mistake to their attention and have corrected. This process took over 1 year and was extremely frustrating. They never corrected this with the leasing company but gave me a letter stating they would pay me the balance. It has now been 9 months since I returned the vehicle and they are refusing to pay stating I was suppose to return the car to them which I never agreed to.Desired Settlement: I feel that I made a deal with the salesman [redacted] on the day I signed the hand written invoice and this deal was not honored. I would like to be compensated for the additional 6000 miles that I had to pay to the leasing company.

The business has responded to your case with the following statement and an attachment

"In response to claim ID# [redacted]

On 5/*/10 Curry Acura entered into a lease agreement with [redacted] for a new 2010 Acura TL. The terms of the lease agreement were for 36 months, 10,000 miles per year (Copy of lease agreement attached).

On 5/*/10 Mr. [redacted] took delivery and signed a closed end motor vehicle lease agreement for 36 months with 10,000 miles per year. Several months later the client reached out to our sales consultant and stated that his lease agreement should have read 12,000 miles per year for 36 months. After consideration, in the name of customer goodwill, we sent [redacted] a letter (Copy of letter attached) stating we would pay for any over mileage up to 12,000 miles per year for 36 months with the stipulation that the vehicle be returned to Curry Acura, [redacted] by May *, 2013.

The customer failed to return the vehicle to our location which absolves us of any responsibility.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]

On 5/*/10 I did enter into a lease agreement with Curry Acura for a new 2010 Acura TL. However, the lease terms agreed upon with my salesman [redacted] was for $430 per month, 36 months, 12,000 miles per year (Copy of signed invoice from 5/*/10, showing 12k per year, attached).

On 5/*/10 I took delivery and signed the typed lease paper work with the finance manager [redacted] and did not notice it had the wrong mileage information. There is also another piece of information that looking back now seems very relevant. During the week after I picked up the car on Monday 5/* Curry called to ask me to come in and sign another lease because they had lost the original papers I signed from 5/*. So I had to make another trip to the dealership the following weekend of 5/8 and resign the lease documents. Perhaps this is when the mistake was made?

But like I said before, when I realized what had happened months later and reported it to [redacted] he told me he was sorry for the mix up and would take care of it. After a year of constant phone calls and emails they only sent me the letter. I never agreed to return the car to Curry Acura and this does not absolve them from anything. If they really want to show goodwill they should hold themselves accountable for the deal I made with [redacted] on 5/*/10. I feel very cheated with the entire situation and just want to be compensated for what is owed to me.
