Asked for deposit back and owner said noWe scheduled a remote car starter for 3/19/14 over the phone. [redacted] Audio said they needed a $25 deposit. We paid that 2 weeks ahead of time. We went for the appt at 9:00am and were told that it would take 8 hours to put in the remote starter. We had never heard of such a thing and he never told us this when booking appt. We told him we only brought one car and were planning on around 2 hrs and would shop in the local area on foot. We told him we could not wait around 8 hrs for the car and rescheduled for the following Saturday. We thought about this for a bit and I went back in and canceled completely and asked for my deposit of $25 back. Owner said no he needed 48 hrs notice. I told him you have it, new appt is in a week, he refused. Desired SettlementI would like my $25.00 returned. Scheduling was done over the phone and he never told us about:1. waiting 8 hrs for the car2. a 48 hr cancellationBusiness Response There is nothing more we can do for this customer. The morning of the installation, the customer did not bring both keys as instructed and wanted to wait for the vehicle(Said he though it only took and hour or so). We let every customer know that they need to drop the car off for the day at 9am and we would call them in the afternoon when the vehicle is finished. We also ask that the customer give us a call at least 48 hours in advance to cancel there appointment. We say this 30 times a day and have done so for 20 years. The customer came up with his own time frame, but unfortunately that does not change how long it takes to do the job. I offered to apply the deposit to the appointment a week later and did so. Then the customer came back in and cancelled the appointment and thought that he would now be able to get his deposit back. It doesn't work that way. Unfortunately, the customer is not eligible to receive the deposit back as he rescheduled and cancelled the appointment the morning of the original. We were doing a favor to apply it to the following week. No further contact is necessary in this as we have closed this case internally. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)We don't accept his response but it is now a 'he said she said'. Unfortunately he has terrible business practices and did nothing to instruct us with two keys, all day affair,'s too bad, we would never recommend and also will let others know this as well. This is a truthful account of exactly what happened. Apparently the $25.00 means alot to him...sad.Thanks anyways!
