Revdex.com, We have been in contact with the [redacted] family.  We are going to do whatever it takes to make them happy.  The crew that installed their project is no longer with us.  That crew did three projects with us, and then we let them go because   The quality of work they were...

Dear Revdex.com,I would like to respond to the complaint ID [redacted] — [redacted].I was unaware that I needed to reply in writing to the Revdex.com about this complaint. Due to several factors, Meredith Home Improvements was not able to get out to the address at [redacted]. promptly. We were able to finally take...

care of the issues, and have since fired a crew because of the issues this created, and immediately put into place several measures to make sure this does not happen in the future. We have also instituted a policy to get to all service calls within 3 business days of the initial complaint. Please let me know what further action may need to be taken to improve our position with the Revdex.com.Sincerely,Candace W[redacted]General ManagerMeredith Home Improvements[redacted]

To Whom It May Concern; From the outset of negotiations, Mr. [redacted] was VERY difficult to deal with. In several conversations and emails, I explained that, “I will not continue to play games”, even before a contract was signed. Meredith Home Improvements would like to reply to Mr. [redacted]’s letter with...

the following five things: 1.     The Crew, [redacted] Contracting (see item No. 3) took all necessary precautions to prevent leaking water by building an appropriate damn on the roof. Unfortunately, the rain and wind was unprecedented, which caused leaking. Mr. [redacted]’s statement that MHI, “did not take regular procedures to protect” is untrue. 2.     As regards the ceiling, there was already extensive existing damage throughout the entire building. As precautionary procedure, photos were taken before and after pictures to document any existing damage. Any damage from the leak was minimal as shown in photos. A professional carpet cleaner was hired to clean the floors where any leaking occurred, prior to calling the insurance company so no further damage would occur. As for the food, there were 6-7 boxes that contained non-perishable canned items. The cardboard boxes were damaged from the water (pictures can be provided). MHI asked for an itemized list of the perishable food that may have been damaged. Mr. [redacted] did not send an itemized list, but rather a bill for $2000 that stated “food compensation”. MHI agreed to pay for itemized perishable items, but was not provided such. 3.     [redacted] Contracting is a sub contractor of Meredith Home Improvements; See Exhibit 1, Item No. 9 of the MHI Contract. We require all sub-contractors to carry their own Liability Insurance and Workers Compensation Insurance for such occasions, which is clearly stated in the contract. When a sub-contractor is responsible for an accident, they have the option to fix the damage themselves if it is within the scope of their ability, or turn it into their insurance. [redacted] Contracting chose to use their insurance because the damage was out of scope of their ability as it was internal. It was explained to Mr. [redacted] in detail that we did not want to provide sub-par work to fix the internal damage. MHI also has an umbrella insurance to ensure that each customer is protected, in any instance the sub-contractor’s insurance may have lapsed. In the case of Mr. [redacted], he was fully covered by [redacted] Contracting. The insurance company covered all damage, including the already existing damage.  4.     When Mr. [redacted] asked about Tax Exemption, MHI contacted their Supplier, who then contacted their corporate office, as well as the State to clarify what is tax exempt. The School is not exempt from paying the taxes on the material according to the State of Pennsylvania. So MHI and Supplier went over and above and agreed to provide a $2250 discount on material, which was clearly explained and passed along to Mr. [redacted]. He eagerly accepted the discount.  (The Supplier is willing to give any needed detail). 5.     Finally, not only did the 3rd Party [redacted] Roof Inspection pass with flying colors, but at the end of the project, Mr. [redacted] asked Meredith Home Improvements to provide an estimate of work on the roof of [redacted] Church’s Priest’s home. We respectfully declined.

The customer ordered a generic payphone upper lock and key set on web order #[redacted]. The generic sets were not available at the time of their order so they were sent a higher quality [redacted] upper lock and key set - at no additional charge. The generic payphone lock sets have not been made for years...

and are only available when we have them in stock. We have the right to substitute a higher quality item if the original item is out of stock. The customer received a [redacted] and an industry standard upper lock and key set.  After reviewing the photo they sent to us and speaking with the customers husband, it turned out they thought if they have been sent the exact upper lock set shown in the photo on our website, they could have used the keys to open their present payphone lock. This is not correct.  I explained that there were literally thousands of key possibilities and there is no way for them to open a payphone lock with just any key. And there is no way to match their present lock with any key - the lock numbers and key numbers do not correlate for safety reasons, so no one could steal your money from your payphone. Even if they knew their key number it would be virtually impossible to find the correct key because no one has them all, there were thousands and thousands of keys! They could not open their present lock.  The customer did in fact, receive the [redacted] and an upper lock and key set. Their order is complete and at a higher quality then they ordered. If they wish to return the lock and key set I told them I had authorized the return under the terms of warranty and return policy. The return must be completed within 30 days of receiving their goods. This matter is closed, this order was fulfilled and customer service given way beyond normal! Thank you, Teresa - Office Manager

Detailed account of work performed by Meredith Home Improvements since last complaint in July.List we gave Meredith of work we wanted re-done:1. Trim boards around windows and doors because original work was messy and workmanship poor. 2. Replace 1-2 square faucet covers. Installed so that box sticks out an inch or more from siding instead of being flush with house.3. Siding was not attached securely to house - keeps coming off.4. Gutters were also not attached well and keep coming off house.5. Would like a fresh 10 year workmanship warranty due to the uncertainty that any of the work we've seen will be long lasting.July 13, 2017 9:20 am Candace called and said that Chad may come with their new production manager on Monday to see what can be done to make things right. We just asked that the job be done right for once.Sep. 20, 2017 Crew worked 8-4 and left job for good. Items 1,3, and 4 were addressed. That evening my husband came and checked things out the best he could and noticed that none of the J-channel had been attached. (See attached picture) Without this...the wind has been catching the siding and banging it back against the house. This is very loud and will likely result in it coming off the house with a more severe storm. One piece of siding has already come loose (See attached picture).  My husband texted Chad and informed him of his concerns regarding the J-channel. Chad's initial response was that he was done and not coming back out, but it seemed like he changed his mind in his following text on Oct. 3.Sep 25, 2017 Called Candace to let them know Chad's crew had left all the construction trash in our driveway and ask when they would pick it up. She sounded like she was unaware of this and had someone pick it up the following day. I also mentioned the j-channel issue. She said Carl or Chad would call back.Sep. 26, 207 Trash pick up.Sep. 28, 2017 No word about fixing problem. He seems like a nice guy, but in the end, that doesn't get the job done right and eventually we are going to have to sell this house and the buyers will want the know their future house isn't going to keep falling apart. We just need it done right.
