Wiring harness for Curtis Plow continually blowing (FCM) Front Control Modules on my pickup truck. Wired according to Curtis's wiring diagram.I have a 2004 [redacted] pickup, and purchased a Curtis plow for it. Had the plow professionally installed and since installation I have had nothing but problems with the headlights, specifically low beams on my truck. Lampout light illuminates on the dash and stays on when high beams are on, and will flash (ding) when low beams are on.. eventually low beams will stop working. I have replaced the Front Control Module 3 times now... and the lampout light is on once again. After researching online, Ive noted this is a common problem for Curtis and have tried reaching out to them on a few occasions to try to figure out why this is happening.. with either no answers, not their problem, or no return calls/emails. The Front Control Module is roughly [redacted] each time I have to replace it. Have had 2 mechanics retrace the wiring and everything is wired properly.. for some reason the Curtis harness is overloading the Front Control Module.Desired SettlementFirst and foremost I want answers as to why this is happening, and what can be done to fix the problem. I would also like monetary compensation for the 3 Front Control Modules I have had to replace since putting this plow on the truck.Business Response Thank you for your inquiry. I have been in contact with Mr. [redacted] via email. Attached is the string of correspondences between us. We are asking him to have this very old, used plow inspected by an authorized dealer so that we can legitimately decide what the next step would be. I appreciate your assistance with this situation.Best regardsConsumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I have been in contact via email, yet have been giving the run around without any answers or solutions. Yes this is an older model plow.. however the wiring and mounts were new when installed on my truck. I still have blown 3 FCM, front control module. There is a reason for this to be happening and as I stated in my email correspondence... I am certainly not the only one that has had this issue. I am sure Curtis is well aware of this problem. This is a safety issue... and god forbid anything ever happens to my previous cargo (my two little girls) because of headlight failure... I will make sure Curtis Industries is held responsible to the fullest as in this complaint I have made them well aware of the situation.. they are well aware this has happened to numerous Curtis owners.. and their only response is that its an old model plow.Final Business Response We have provided Mr. [redacted] with a list of authorized dealers. These dealers are independent businesses and would have to be contacted directly by him. As the 2 year warranty period expired nine years ago and given the plow was purchased as used equipment by Mr. [redacted], we will be unable to absorb the charge for the evaluation.
