Review: 01/29/14Dear Revdex.com,I am writing on behalf of my father [redacted] who is ** and has dementia. On 06/27/2013 he visited Curtiss/Ryan Honda [redacted] to look for a low-cost, used car for his granddaughter. Within an hour he had signed a six-year loan for a 2010 Honda Civic which will cost him after payments, hopefully he lives that long, $22,850!! I am protesting the sale of the car to him since no contract is valid if the signer has dementia. Also, I believe the salesperson [redacted] used predatory practices to sell him the car. My father paid full sticker along with thousands of dollars of ad-ons. His daughter-in-law tried to stop the sale but stopped calling because [redacted] threatened to call the police if she did not. My father cannot afford to pay for a loan that amounts to about $400.00 a month after insurance and finance charges. His income is only $1,850 a month and he has no savings. Once monthly medicines, doctor bills and other expenses are paid he has very little money left over to pay for food. He's currently on food and energy assistance programs. It is my belief that the the sales person did what mortgage companies did a few years back to buyers who could not logically afford a home loan. I found out about this deal a few months back and have tried to work something out with Curtis/Ryan but the COO refused to negotiate. To me this is serious abuse of the elderly. I would like for Cutiss/ Ryan to take possession and ownership of the car relieving my father of his financial responsibility and refund his down payment and seven monthly installments. If they can't do this soon my father will have to default on the car loan and then his good standing as a responsible citizen will be tarnished and that is no way to be in the emeritus years of one's life. I hope there is help available that can restore his financial stability and maintain his standing as a solid citizen.Thank you![redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like for Cutiss/Ryan to take possession and ownership of the car relieving my father of his financial responsibility and refund his down payment and seven monthly installments.
