Curves of Belle View

Review: I joined curves a number of years ago. I had a membership for several years that I paid for even though I seldom used the facility. Due to their hours, it was not conducive to my schedule. Thus,I canceled my membership in 2009. A) In February, 2009 I walked into their facility and requested to cancel my membership. I was advised my cancelation must be in writing. B) I went home, typed up a letter requesting the cancelation and went back up to the facility and handed it to the woman at the desk. The following month I noticed the charges still coming out of my account, despite my request to cancel it. I typed up a second letter and mailed it via U.S. Mail to the facility. Still...charges continued to be taken from my account, despite my requested to cancel the membership. I called the facility and was advised the owner would need to handle this and they would relay my message. I never received a phone call from them. Finally, out of frustration, I called my bank and had them cancel the membership. I now see $89 showing up on my credit report as a bad deblt. I followed proper protocol in canceling my membership at this gym. I want them to remove the bad debt notation from my credit report. I have copies of my letters to them. It is criminal that a gym can do this to someone who has followed proper protocol in canceling their account.Desired Settlement: Remove the "bad debt." Contact the 3 credit score companies that this was an error on their part.
