You are right, he has called numerous times and I went over there once to look at the problemThis is winter time in [redacted] , I shut the business down from November 10-Till march 1, We are not in the office during these monthsI will be more than happy to come tear out the step when our offices open in MarchIf the weather shows that we can open earlier, I will be there thanFurther more the homeowner wanted done cheap and said the ground was there for ever and wasn't concerned about it" just do it cheap" was the message relayed to meSo I didIt will never happen againSo I will remove the step when my company opens, and he can find another contractor to do his workI do apologize for any inconvenience this has caused both you and himPlease know I'm am a man of my word and it will be taken care of asapThank [redacted]

Obviously we have a different story to what was said and what actually really happenSo whatAt the end of the day he owes me $ if this don't carry on to much furtherI give a lifetime warranty on everything we do,that the concrete will never lift, heave, or pull apartConcrete cracks everyone knows thatThe object is to keep the cracks as small as possibleI gave him the piece of paper stating some of the things that need to be done in order to keep his concrete like new foreverIf he chooses to not pay me asap as he stated to me, per our last conversationThan not only will his warranty expire if I have to go to court or have to waitBut he will not know how to take care of the concrete the way I would preferIt the concrete will be probably failing within a couple of yearsI gave him a piece of paper with full intentions on honoring this commitment to him and all my customersI've been in business for myself for ove twenty plus years with that paper and not one customer has ever complained to the Revdex.com that I have ever broken a promise to take care of a paying customerI'm not affiliated with the Revdex.com but when you have integrity and a commitment to do the best concrete in this city and offer the best warranty in this city I need not be concerned about the outcome of my workWe are 95% referral based, I didn't go looking for him he came to meNow I want to be paid asap or I can promise you when we go to court I will get that money and moreSo *** drop the tough guy attitude put your big boots on, and man up to the table and pay meThere's nothing wrong with that driveway except one hair line crack that I will repair till I die for freeBut not if I'm not paidThan GOD only knows how long it will lastI will sit down with you and explain the worksheet so you can try and understand itO but I forgot you know everything and we can see how far that's getting you

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: mr ***, in your last response to the Revdex.com as part of this complaint you indicated, “I resolve all issues with my customers before it gets to you” (Revdex.com). We have researched the last three complaints against cushman concrete with the Revdex.com. The complaints filed against cushman concrete were sent to the Revdex.com in August 2014, September and February 2015. The published complaints indicate some of your excuses were; weather, improper maintenance and medical emergenciesThe weather excuse we have read and heard, along with I didn’t know I should prepare the base, or I didn’t know to anchor the step to adjacent concrete. The stated specific problems included in the complaints with your work were: No expansion joints placed on any of the flatwork, no expansion paper was placed around support poles in the basement between the support poles and the concrete. Those support poles encased in concrete cannot be adjusted to allow for expansion and contraction. Doors are not able to be opened due to the concrete placed by cushman concrete. To my recollection mr ***, you were the one who stated “I can do this job “cheap” because we, cushman concrete, have extra concrete at a job on the next block which has already been paid for”. You said you would place that concrete as our step and it would significantly lower our costYou never gave us any quote for the work prior to placing the forms. We never dreamed you would not stabilize the step with a sufficient base and would not drill pilot holes with rebar into the existing porch as you have stated on previous jobs at my residence. That is what we get for trusting. We didn’t find out how much money you wanted for the step until at the end of the concrete placement. You said you would require $and Linda wrote you the check. We originally paid for the concrete work with a personal check to *** ***, not Cushman Concrete at ***’s insistenceNo receipt was ever offered, or given by *** *** or Cushman ConcreteIt amazes us that mr *** is now willing to acquiesce to the refund of our money after only a couple discussions on the complaint siteOur complaint to the contractor was initiated in July 2016, our Revdex.com complaint was placed in January 2017. This is a period of at least months of no response from mr ***mr *** lives approximately blocks from us and the project site. Why months? mr *** has certainly drug his feet in customer service and also with his admission of an inferior, underbid, concrete project. We will not allow *** ***, or employees of cushman concrete on our property due to this current action. mr ***, we are not asking for money for “pain and suffering”. We are however demanding to be rightly compensated for the removal of a sub-standard, poorly constructed concrete step which you placed. The step was rejected by us, the owners, you were notified beginning in July 2016. You are responsible for the removal of the step due to your admission of incorrect, substandard construction of a single step adjacent to a porch at my residence. In its current state the step has a negative value to the property, it must be removed. Therefore, we expect to be compensated to pay a competent concrete company, of our choosing, to remove the step you haphazardly constructed. We have received an estimate at $to remove and dispose of the concrete step. Additionally, you failed to place expansion material between your concrete work and the adjacent brickwork on the single -family residence. The concrete step, adjoining, “touching”, the brick work is cracking and breaking bricks on the house due to settlement and a failure to anchor the step to the porchThe cracked and broken bricks will need to be removed and replacedThe damage will only get worse over time as the concrete step slides away from the house structureThis damage is a direct result from your concrete work. The cost to repair the brick work is an additional $dollars based on an estimate from a bricklayerIn summary: $ damage due from Cushman Concrete to remove step$100 damage due from cushman for brick work repair, resulting from damage caused by Cushman Concrete $400 damage due from cushman concrete for project refund as offered by in *** *** in previous Revdex.com correspondence for faulty concrete workTotal due from cushman concrete for damages: $ 1,
Sincerely,
*** ***

We were hired to remove and replace a garage floor which was done and they paid the billThey than asked me to remove and replace the driveway and could they pay me the first of JulyI said yes and than he said can you do it asap I said yesWe did the job to perfection the most beautiful driveway
aroundThere were no complaints till we called and asked if and when was he going to pay usHe said this is a crap driveway it has a crack, ( hair line ) I repaired the crackI do offer a lifetime warranty the which no one does except meI guarantee that the concrete will never lift heave or pull apartConcrete cracks and when it does it normally will happen within the first daysNormally from the water leaving the concreteI could not sit with the customer and go through the things to expect because he never had timeI only became hostile when he called my work (***), and that he now was not going to pay me till sometime in AugustThan he sent a nasty text to my son that he was not going to pay us at allSo I contacted the concrete company and told them to put the lien on the house, and I will be doing the sameHe is right I didn't give him a proposal on the driveway work because again he was not available to see us before the work startedThe driveway is perfect and I do and will still stand behind the lifetime warranty that I have for everyone, as soon as I'm paidAll cracks will be repaired to perfection, and not with caulking or any ugly fillersIf I had time to explain the work sheet I give every customer at the end of every job when I'm paidHe would have understood the work sheet and the warrantyBut again he was to busyI explained to him when I was paid I would go through itAs I understand he has been upset with every contractor that has worked thereMy badIf you can help that would be a big helpBut I guarantee he is beyond any kind of understandingThank you

I have no problem with giving mr. [redacted] back the money he gave me. $400.00. I do not intend on giving him pain and suffering money. I do apologize for any problems that he and his wife have endured during this process. I learned a very valuable lesson during this process. I'm sure mr. [redacted] is a very complaint engineer, but the design build that he is referring to was never brought up in our conversation. For me to have built it the way he has just explained, I could have never did the job for $400.00. I'm sorry he is upset, and look forward to giving him his $400.00 dollars that he gave me back. I thought it would be easier if I took it out, I was wrong, sorry. It seems to me he has the aggressive behavior not me. I promise you as you know I have very, very few complaints. I resolve all isssues with my customers before it gets to you. I obviously didn't see this coming or I would have prevented at all costs. I truly wish mr and mrs [redacted] all the best of luck with their project as it moves forward. To the Revdex.com I'm sorry you had to get involved in something I should have taken care of long ago. Furthermore in July, it was a small separation,(like concrete shrinkage) crack. I assumed that it was not going to get any bigger, my bad. I look at it again end of October didn't look much worse than before. At that time we were already booked till the end of the year, when we shut down. If you were to use expansion paper in this case there would have been a half inch gap instead of a hair line separation. Quick fix, the repair or caulking used to hide this crack would have been a very ugly repair right in front of his house. I do drill and Dowdell everything I do. And I do give a lifetime warranty. When I do it my way for all the money that a job takes. Even though he says he didn't say he wanted cheap, he did say that. The initial cost was 1250.00 the way I wanted to do it he thought that was to expensive, he said the ground has been there for 50 years and the concrete probably wouldn't move much, it did. I have have pics the three times I went there. It's not that bad. Again I'm truly sorry nad let me know how to get him his $400.00, thank you

You are right, he has called numerous times and I went over there once to look at the problem. This is winter time in [redacted], I shut the business down from November 10-2016. Till march 1, 2017. We are not in the office during these months. I will be more than happy to come tear out the step...

when our offices open in March. If the weather shows that we can open earlier, I will be there than. Further more the homeowner wanted done cheap and said the ground was there for ever and wasn't concerned about it. " just do it cheap" was the message relayed to me. So I did. It will never happen again. So I will remove the step when my company opens, and he can find another contractor to do his work. I do apologize for any inconvenience this has caused both you and him. Please know I'm am a man of my word and it will be taken care of asap. Thank [redacted]
