My husband and I agree completely with your conclutions about CUSO Financial Services Advisors. Wish we would have know these facts before switching my husband's only Traditional IRA that had done great in Index Value Funds at Vanguard for many years. My husband was invested through their young, arrogant, rep at Redwood Credit Union in Santa Rosa, CA only from July 2016 to April 2017 when my husband switched to Fidelity. We still don't know if we will have to pay the IRS a 50% penalty for not taking out our 2016 RMD by Dec 31st. His CUSO advisor lied about taking out the RMD for him when he was making the sale. My husband never received an end of the year statement or an IRS Dividend and Loss form to include in our 2016 Taxes. Before the tax deadline, the advisor refused to meet with my husband and then when he finally did right after the tax deadline, he refused to write a check from my husband's own money in his account for the RMD. My husband is a retired teacher on a very limited pension which is our only monthly income. He put us into high risk stock funds only and no bonds for security and didn't learn until transferred the money that 1/2 had been set aside in cash, earning no dividends. It was a nightmare, and we have much background and 30 years experience investing in mostly no load mutual funds.
