Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Custom Brick and Stone has never addressed our concerns nor have they made any offer to do soContrary to their assertions, they failed to perform the basic steps needed to repair a brick-in-sand sidewalk and have never returned to make any corrections, clean up debris, or make minor adjustments.

Tamping was never discussed or needed because it was relayed on an existing year old bed. I was paid in full by the husbandAfter trying to discuss any possible issues with the wife I was told the whole walk way needed to be relayed because of irregularityAs you can see from the pictures
the irregularity dose not existSo I was not sure what to doAfter that I was told half of the walk way needed to be relayedThis is simply not needed and not fairI am still unsure how to make her happy in a fair way. Thanks again please feel free to call me

Repairing a paver-in-sand walkway is perhaps the most basic job with which a brick mason is taskedFor Johnny M*** to state that tamping was never discussed prior to the beginning of work is curiousIt is just like a mechanic telling us that we did not specify that new oil be installed when we arrange for a routine oil change on our carWhenever brick is lifted from a walkway such as ours -- no matter what the age -- it is necessary to tamp and screed the sand prior to re-setting the brickFailure to do so is simply performing half the job and naturally results in the uneven surface we have encountered. Johnny M*** claims to have (sometimes 35) years experience as a bricklayerIt is not unfair of us to expect that he perform the work needed to repair our walkway in accordance with the ordinary procedures used in the industryHe did not do so and has refused to correct his workBUYER BEWARE!

Repairing a paver-in-sand walkway is perhaps the most basic job with which a brick mason is tasked. For Johnny M[redacted] to state that tamping was never discussed prior to the beginning of work is curious. It is just like a mechanic telling us that we did not specify that new oil be installed when we arrange for a routine oil change on our car. Whenever brick is lifted from a walkway such as ours -- no matter what the age -- it is necessary to tamp and screed the sand prior to re-setting the brick. Failure to do so is simply performing half the job and naturally results in the uneven surface we have encountered. Johnny M[redacted] claims to have 25 (sometimes 35) years experience as a bricklayer. It is not unfair of us to expect that he perform the work needed to repair our walkway in accordance with the ordinary procedures used in the industry. He did not do so and has refused to correct his work. BUYER BEWARE!

Revdex.com spoke with the business regarding the customer new concern about tamping. This is something that is done in new construction when a mechanical tamp plate is based in the base level to keep it from settling. This base has been there for 35 years and settling was not a concern at this time. The husband spoke about the top layers and touch ups around the area. This was done as discussed with the husband and the job was paid for. There were a few areas of concerns he had with debris and one spot that needed to be tamped back down and the business came out to take care of that.
