The customer ordered a small tiered cake, cupcakes and a 3D sculpted piano groom’s cake for their wedding on July 9, They chose to provide their own cupcake stand for us to display the cake & cupcakes at the wedding receptionWhen we arrived at the venue to set up (minutes prior to the guests arrival), it was determined that the customer’s cupcake stand would not support the weight of the cake if placed on top of the stand Our only option at that point was to place the cake on the table itself, rather than risk using an unsteady stand that would have caused a fall & ruined the entire display The cupcakes were all placed on the stand, organized according to flavor, as was directed by the bride on her cake contractThe other issue cited by the bride was the placement & appearance of the African-American flag that was put on top of the 3D sculpted pianoIt was put on top of the piano but wasn’t draped to Ms [redacted] expectations For this we offered her a refund of the price of the materials & labor to make the flag, as well as an additional sum since she was unhappy with her general setup of the cake tableAll in all, the bride has received $in compensation from her original contract price of $ This is a 25% refund, not 14% as stated We have responded to every concern brought to our attention by the bride in a timely fashion & consider the compensation given to her to be fair We have documentation from the bride after the wedding stating that the “taste was nice and the cake and the piano were very nice.”
