This review is on the sales process at Custom Camper as of this time, I do not have my camper because we ordered ours. However, we visited numerous places to purchase a travel trailer and were either put off by the product, put off by the sales agent that just tried to hard or, put off by the dealership and their process. We went to Custom Camper and met Pete. He was straight up, showed us the product and pointed to areas of construction as to why he chose to sell the lines he has. Never once did we feel pressured and that really showed to us his belief in the manufacturer. Once we decided on the model we wanted which was a few weeks later, my wife went online and put in an internet request for pricing. We received a call from Pete 2 days later and he gave us a price with the option of an emerald package and one without. Within a few days, we took a 4 hour trip to see one that was on another lot, just to make sure that was the model we wanted. While there, we asked for pricing. The price we received was almost $2k more for what we wanted for more equipment. We even made an attempt to offer what we were willing to pay knowing what we were given by Pete. Pete's pricing right out of the gate was so much better and the following day, I went back and ordered our travel trailer.
Through the ordering process with Pete, we were interrupted by some customers who were considering a purchase of a 2016 model but by the time they made the decision to purchase, that unit was already sold. So, Pete told them he would get them a 2017 model with the same equipment at the same price that he originally gave them for the 2016 model. That impressed me even more.
So, we discussed a few things and got down to the rest of my order. One thing we discussed was a ladder and a bike rack. Through our other discussions we both became distracted, mainly because I asked him about his Chevy parked out back as I am a classic car nut. Well, the ladder and bike rack never got on the order and when I reviewed it, I had forgotten about it. I realize it the next day, which was on Sunday. Well, I go in on Monday to bring him some information he needed, spoke with the wonderful lady that handles all the paperwork, phones, questions, etc. and let her know that the ladder and bike rack wasn't on the order. So, she tells me yes it is. Pete had remembered before I had shown up and had her put it on the order!
That is an extreme example of great customer service!!!
Having been in car sales for 20 years and seeing how some dealerships treat their customers, I was very impressed.
My recommendation to anyone that is considering the purchase of an RV is to stop here and do not waste your time going elsewhere as long as they have or can get a model that fits what you want. I do not give out recommendations very easily but this place would receive 6 stars on a 5 star scale from me and my wife!
I will post again when we take delivery and any service or services that we have.
