From: Custom Colonial Painting [***m] Sent: Wednesday, October 12, 10:AM To: *** Subject: #11*** In response to the Revdex.com complaint: I responded months ago According to a rep from *** *** which is the brand of
ceiling paint usedThe “cracking and peeling” of a plaster ceiling is caused by the age of the plaster and the PH levels being offOver time the plaster changes PH levels and breaks apart. This happens in older plaster ceilings sometimes, there is no way in telling when a plaster ceiling PH levels can or will fail. If this was painters error, iepainting over moist spackle, the paint would have bubbled and peeled the next day, since it is a latex based paintLatex paint, which was used, does not crack and blister, that is actually the original plaster plus old paint. According to Sh*** *** To repair this, you need to scrape off the old blistered plaster, then wipe water/vinegar on the old plaster to restore the PH level, then use a masonry primer, then repaint the ceiling
Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:Custom Colonial Painting with over years experience should have notified me of the potential problem before proceeding with painting the ceilingsThere is no simular issue with paint peeling on the 2nd floor ceilingsI beleive "the painters" did not properly prepare the ceilings on the 1st floor before painting them
Sincerely,
*** ***
