Custom Craft Auto Collision Reviews (%countItem)

I was involved in a hit and run accident in January 2018. I filed a claim through my insurance company, Farmers. I selected Custom Craft to take my car to for the repairs. I submitted photos with my claim to Farmer's insurance prior to getting a quote from Farmers.

I took my car in for repairs on the rear of the vehicle. The repairs were to the tail gate, the bumper, and bumper valance. When we picked up my vehicle there were several issues, first the bumper valance was never replaced so the point of impact on my vehicle was never repaired. When I discussed this with Anthony he told me that there wasn't damage to my vehicle there when I took it in. He accused me of trying to get repairs done that weren't associated with the accident. I printed out the photos that I initially submitted with my claim as well as the photos when I picked my vehicle up. He too said he had photos of my vehicle when I dropped it off, and they showed no damage. He never shared those photos with me. Once I gave him my photos as well as shared them with Farmer's he agreed to do the repairs in which Farmers had to pay him for. Also, when we picked up my vehicle and were doing a walkaround inspection we noticed a large ding on the passenger side of the door near the floor that was not there prior to us taking in our vehicle to Custom Craft. We let Anthony know of this as well. It looked as though a power tool had been dropped and it scratched the car. Anthony agreed to have us bring back in the vehicle and they would fix this. The third issue was that upon turning on my vehicle, I received an error message indicating my left rear turn signal was out. We pulled the vehicle over and looked and it appeared that all of the signals were working. However, the car indicates the same error message every time it is turned on, in addition to the left signal, once activated, blinks at a rate of about 5 times faster than the right turn signal.

When the problems of the bumper valance not being replaced as well as the turn signal malfunctioning, Anthony from Custom Craft indicated that it wasn't that bad of a problem, the bumper valance wasn't too noticeable and the turn signal is not out. When we picked up my vehicle for the second time from Custom Craft, the error message about the turn signal was still present and Anthony indicated that there was nothing Custom Craft could do about it. We had to take my vehicle with the turn signal indicator malfunctioning.

An additional problem arose, as we were driving home, the vehicle suddenly lost acceleration on the highway. We managed to pull the vehicle over and turn it off and turn it on. The vehicle has now done this twice since we picked it up from Custom Craft. I have had this vehicle for almost two years and I have never had an issue with the acceleration like this.

We now have to pay the Dodge dealership out of pocket to run diagnostics on my vehicle to determine where the electrical problem is. At a minimum I expected to receive my vehicle back from Custom Craft in a better condition than what I left it. Farmers paid Custom Craft to repair my vehicle and I pay a $250 deductible. And now I am paying out of pocket to repair my vehicle because of errors made by Custom Craft.

Hello ***,

I am very sorry about all problems you had with the Durango repairs. I wish I would of gotten involved earlier in the process to make sure everything was taken care of the first time. I have been in contact with your mother *** and believe that we have gotten everything taken care of as we were able to get you re-remimbursed by Farmers Insurance for what you had paid out of pocket by credit card. I did receive all of the information she emailed me from Desert Sun Dodge which performed the work for you and sent them to Angelica at Farmers. She was on vacation and did not get back till June 6th which is when I was able to go over all the paperwork with her and approved. I did verify that the check would be made out directly to the insurer too. The only concern I have is I did not see anything on their diagnostics relating to checking the issue of sudden loss of acceleration. Did this get resolved or no longer happening? Again I cannot apologize enough for the inconvenience of having to bring your vehicle back in for us to go over 2 separate times. I also apologize as we repaired your vehicle during our move in to our new location which was not as smooth of a transition as expected. If there is ever anything that we can do please let us know. If you have time please bring your vehicle back and let us detail it for you whenever works for you.

Sincerely,Andrew G
