We hired JBK Custom Decks to replace an existing deck and add a smaller 2nd deck.During the construction phase on June 5th the Town Building Inspector told the Owner ([redacted]) that there needed to be flashing installed PER the Building Code and did not sign the Building Permit for the Frame Inspection. The Contractor continued the deck to completion.

When the time came for final payment I had asked about the permit and was told by same Owner "it's all taken care of" and the final Inspection was scheduled for later that week. Unfortunately I paid the final payment at that time. This was July 15th.

After 2 weeks I stop in at the Building Dept to see if I needed to schedule a Final Inspection and was told that the Contractor never had the Framing Inspection re-done to pass. The Inspector came to my house 2 days later and checked and said the Contractor still had not installed the required flashing , even tough told IN PERSON that it would NEED it. There also needs to be a different hand rail installed on Back deck.

We had the contractor come out (8/16/2013) and see the letter from the Town of Perinton and he said he would meet the Inspector at the house to show what he did that "Met the Code" ... and he still has not done so. I had last spoke to the contractor on 9/3/13 and he has not responded. As I was filling this the Town Building Inspector called me and advised that he still (3 weeks ) has not heard from [redacted] and not meeting has been scheduled between the 2 of them.
