Custom Design

Review: [redacted] from Custom Design LLC, aka JZ Home Improvement LLC, provided contracting services including carpentry and plumbing to finish our unfinished basement. After completing the work, our previously dry basement was flooded due to the error and negligence of the plumbing work behind the wall. The plumber on January 10, 2013 came and repaired the problem. I contacted [redacted] regarding the water damage to the basement on January 15, 2013 including the pergo floors and sent him photos and videos of the water damage. He returned on January 20, 2013 and had the floor lifted and molding removed to see the extent of the damage. They put fans up to help with the drying process. We then had a company come in on January 25, 2013 to seal and treat the area preventatively for mold, and some surface mold that was growing. After the mold company finished, [redacted] told us several times that his employees were coming and they did not show up. They then returned on February 1, 2013 and installed the floor and moldings. During this time one of the moldings was cracked while it was being replaced. The nails were not caulked,and molding was not caulked or painted. The room needed to be brought back to the condition it was in prior to the flooding caused by their negligence. I have contacted him over the last two months and he has stated that he would be in touch with the painter and get back to me. This was over two months now and the basement is still not finished. [redacted] said that his painter was coming this past Saturday March 30, 2013 at 8am and did not show up. [redacted] did not call or contact me to let me know he was not coming. I contacted [redacted] at 12pm and asked him where the painter was and he informed me that he couldn't get a hold of him and had already paid him for several hours of work to finish our basement. I followed up and asked him what the status was and he has not answered me.

Desired Settlement: I would like my basement completed to the finished condition it was before their negligence and faulty plumbing flooded my dry basement. The molding needs to be replaced where it was cracked by the workes, nails covered/caulked, molding caulked, and molding painted.
