I am rejecting this response because:This offer is completely unacceptableIt is unrealistic to expect us to move an electrical boxYou are choosing to shirk your professional responsibility by pawning the problem off on othersThis situation could have been resolved with a very simple phone callMost fence companies map everything out prior to install in order to identify any issues beforehandThis doesn't seem to have been doneAgain, we relied on your professional expertise to install a fence we could be proud ofYou negated your own contract by choosing to install a section of our fence that was not approved by us, yet you argue that you only install per contractThis is clear evidence that you care more about lining your pockets with profits than you do taking care of the consumer that chooses to trust you to install their fenceYou should be embarrassed not only by your shady work but also by your lack of accountability to your customer.We expect that you will resolve the fence issue at your own expense given that you violated your own contract and chose to install a fence with visible issues, without a simple phone call to the homeownerShame on you

I am rejecting this response because:The business did not install the fence “to contract” as stated in their argumentInstead of calling us, the homeowner, when they ran into an issue they took the liberty of flipping the boards to the opposite side of the fence, which was never agreed uponWe relied on this company’s professional service and expertise to install a beautiful fence that we could be proud ofInstead, we are disgusted not only by their lack of consideration in reaching out to us when they saw an issue we didn’t know about but also their continued resistance to do the right thingWe feel completely taken advantage of by this shady business

Custom Fence & Supply has attached a copy of the signed contract.  As previously mentioned the contract states that we install the fence with rails to face inside the yard and other than the approximately 4 to 5 feet of fence where the electrical box prevents us from doing so the fence is as contract.  We again have offered at no charge to move the 4 to 5 feet of rails and wire to the inside to match the existing fence as soon as the obstacle / electrical box is moved.  Also attached is a quote for the 2nd option we have offered. This is to have Custom Fence move the rails and wire on the left sideline from the inside to the outside of the yard at a discounted rate as this is not how the contract stated.   You will see the quote is offering $6.00/ft which is a savings of $1.50 /ft. Custom Fence & Supply was hired to install fencing along the left sideline, backline and front wings of said property.  Custom Fence & Supply first provided a quote to do the work and followed up with getting a signed contract from the homeowner for the work to be done.  As part...

of the contract one of the first questions we ask the homeowner to answer and initial is:  “Do you want the rails to face the inside or outside of your yard? Circle  INSIDE   OUTSIDE “ The homeowner circled INSIDE and initialed. The second question on contract asks: “Do you want your fence on the property line or just inside property line? Circle  ON   INSIDE “ The homeowner circled ON and initialed. Custom Fence & Supply installed the fence as stated in the contract, the fence is ON property line and the rails face INSIDE.  The tree & the electrical box mentioned by the homeowner have been present in the yard before the contract with signed and visible to the homeowner.  The fence was able to be installed past the tree but however when reaching the electrical box the only way for the fence to be complete was to put that portion of the rails on the other side for approximately 4 to 5 feet.  It is not standard practice for our installers to contact each homeowner.  In this situation our installers were able to complete the fence by the electrical box by putting the rails on the other side knowing that moving the electrical box was the more expensive and time consuming option.   We have offered to the homeowner at no charge moving the rails & wire to the inside to match the existing fence if they have the electrical box moved in order for the rails to fit.  As it stands, the electrical box will not allow the rails to fit.  We have also offered a second option.  We can provide the homeowner a quote to move the existing rails and wire on the fence so the entire left sideline fence has rails facing OUTISDE.  We will offer a discounted quote as we are very aware that this is an unfortunate situation as the homeowner did not expect the electrical box to be a problem.
