We paid $588 for golf cart to be repaired. When it was returned to us not only was it doing the same exact thing prior to the $588 charge, it also had other issues that happened while they had it in Their shop. They picked it up again and have had it for 2 weeks and now Leslie is saying she doesn't know when we will get it back. While it's been there this time more parts were broken on our golf cart. She's telling us she can't find a part to repair it. We either want our $588 returned so we can take it somewhere else or demand that she return it to us within the week with the repairs they caused to be done. I wish we had read the other reviews, this business is a rip-off!

Desired Outcome

Refund my money and return my golf cart!

Our Process is transparent and simple. An appointment is made we pick up the cart a diagnostic is performed. The customer is quoted either approves or declines repairs. This person visited our shop periodically for about a year stated he had problems with his cart he was working on it himself basically he was looking for free diagnostic this is against our policy we only provide diagnostics on carts we physically see. Customer made and cancelled several appointments On the fourth pickup attempt the driver had to wait for the cart to appear at the pick site. At this point we should have refused service. When the cart arrived at the shop we ran a diagnostic two options were presented a motor rebuild or new motor the customer approved a rebuild. Rebuilds are significantly less cost than a new motor. We repaired, tested, returned the cart with instructions to fully charge the cart before use. We received a threatening call from the customer that the cart had a problem . We picked up the cart the diagnostic clearly indicated low voltage the customer was negligent in following instructions to fully charge the cart before use. Further, the customers negligence resulted in damage to the rebuilt motor. The customer was then informed we were sourcing a motor part. The customer agreed. The customer stated he had a motor we offered to return the cart he could install the motor himself. The motor never materialized the customer obviously lied. We advised the customer the part was taking time to locate we would pay for the part or a new motor may be required then we would need to discuss that plan of action. We spoke to the customer the very day he filed the false and misleading complaint to Revdex.com. In said complaint the customer outright lied about not being informed and damage to his cart. Customer was emailed to explain damage to his cart his response "I'm not sure what you mean". We did not do any damage to the cart. This person is not credible further we experienced intimidation, threats and lies from this person. To remedy the situation we installed a new OEM motor ($2000.00) at no charge to the customer. The cart was fully charged with customers charger, taken for a test drive by a technician the cart performed properly. Cart was returned to customer morning of 02/28/2020. We received a foul email from customer 2/28/2020 pm claiming the same problem. Customer was emailed an apology and we re-stated actions taken in his case. We have remedied this case to the best of our ability and beyond, we feel the person was out to take advantage of us from the onset. The person kept saying I don't want to put any money in this cart - we now know that is code for how can I take advantage of you and how much can I get done for free - we learned our lesson.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not except this response to our complaint as it is a bunch of lies! First off, yes, I was in their shop the previous year, but to purchase batteries for this cart. I installed the batteries and I had no further problems with the cart until this year. I was not back to their shop until I had this new problem this year and as to the accusation that I worked on it previously, that is a lie. The only thing I ever did was install batteries. I went to their shop this year to discuss the current problem and was told they had a computer that would tell them the exact problem with the cart. At this time I made an appointment to have it picked up and diagnosed. I did have to cancel this appointment due to a family emergency, but later rescheduled it. I was told they would call when they were on their way to pick the cart up, they did not call with a set time so when they showed up, my wife and mother were out in the cart. After the cart was picked up, I was made aware of what they said needed to be done to repair the problem. I then reluctantly agreed to the repairs. After they returned it, the cart had the same exact problem as before plus none of the lights worked on it. I found that a fuse link had been pulled apart and repaired it myself. Upon calling them and informing them that it still had the same problem, I started hearing excuses. I was told they fixed the problem, and that this had to be a new problem. I ran a construction company for 40 years and did all the repairs on our trucks, Equipment and tools myself. So I know the difference between a new problem and the same old problem. I was then told it was because the batteries weren't charged enough and for a week I did exactly the way she suggested. This made no difference in the problem whatsoever. As for the absurd comment that I threatened anything is a lie. If anything I stayed way too patient in this matter. We were out of town for a week and made arrangements to have it picked up again upon returning. After almost a week had gone by with no contact from them, I called and the mechanic answered the phone. When I inquired as to what was going on, with that he got very nasty and only said they were workIng on it. I then stopped by their shop the next week and was informed that the Armature had burned up while being tested. At this time I did inform her I was not going to put another bunch of money into it since I had already paid them $588 for repairs that did not fix it. This process went on for nearly a month before the cart was returned to us and again we were told the problem was taken care of. After driving it a short distance it was very obvious the same problem still existed. I then sent a message to her simply telling her it was doing the same damn thing (I guess this was considered threatening and foul, not sure). I have no problem paying for something that is done correctly. I do have a problem with being scammed and expected to pay for misdiagnosed repairs and still have the same exact problem I started with. After over two months of dealing with this ridiculous situation we still have a cart that does not function properly and we are out $588 due to their so-called professional mechanics misdiagnosis. As for accusing me of damaging the rebuilt motor that is a ridiculous accusation, all I did was plug in the automatic charger and charge it exactly as I was asked to try. Once again they can't own up to their poor workmanship and try to excuse it anyway they can. At this time after her ridiculous accusations, what I should do is take them to court to cover whatever the correct repairs end up costing us and for all our stress and time for dealing with their BS and for having a cart that still does not operate correctly. As for her comment I want something for free, I don't consider $588 free and now I still have to have the problem repaired by someone who can repair our cart. In conclusion, we ask to be reimbursed the $588 we spent for misdiagnosis of our cart.

The consumers rebuttal contains inaccuracies which we do not accept. We will address a few of them here. The consumer states he replaced the batteries in the cart - the consumer stated to us that the cart had problems before and after he replaced the batteries. The consumer stated he repaired all the trucks for his business. Therein lies the problem. A golf cart system is totally different than an automobile. Automotive knowledge does not translate to golf cart repair. A golf cart is not a car and cannot be treated as one. The consumer is negligent in properly maintaining the golf cart voltage- he does not plug the cart in after every use as instructed. The golf cart is in a perpetual state of under voltage leading to damage of the electrical system and component parts. The diagnostic indicated a fault with the motor. We physically inspected the motor advised the consumer, quoted and received approval for the repair. The repair was performed, cart tested and returned to the consumer. The consumer did not plug in the cart as instructed and caused damage to the repair and further damage to the electrical system and component parts. We know this because upon a second diagnostic the fault was low voltage. The consumer was advised along the way of status in fact we spoke the morning this Revdex.com complaint was filed. When we received the Revdex.com complaint we were confused as we knew the chain of events. We asked the consumer to indicate the damage he alleged we did to his golf cart - the consumer stated he didn't know what we were referring to in the request even though he made the accusation in the Revdex.com filing. At this point, We chose to remedy the consumer by installing a new OEM motor free of charge. We installed , tested and returned the golf cart. In summary the consumer has received a refund three times over and above the request.
