I kept asking him when he was going to finish and he said that he did not have any more money to finish even though I paid him based on the contract. He said that once he received a life insurance settlement for his wife's[redacted] who passed away on November 19, 2013, he would finish it. He said that it would take 15 months before he would received the settlement. He did not pay his subcontractors, heating and air and electrical even though I gave him the money to pay them. My house was in total disarray; I couldn't wait 15 months to have my house finished. Therefore, I fired him and hired a new contractor. I had to borrow $25,000 to finish renovating my home and pay the subcontractors. I waited this long to file because I wanted to try to work with him to see if he would pay me but he kept moving the settlement date. I hope this can be solved without going to court. Thank you for your assistance in this matter. I think I have been very patient with him. Now I am in debt because of him.
