Custom installation service did remove a Luminette shade from *** *** master bedroom for the purpose of cleaning. This was done with both parties understanding the liability disclaimer. This shade was taken to custom
installation service shop, it was gently cleaned with a low water temperature, lightly brushed and rinsed. It was then racked vertically and immediately dried. This was done per *** *** recommendation for cleaning. After days hanging vertically it was taken down off racks and rolled on a tube. We then brought it to customer's house and installed it. Customer complained in an accusatory tone that shade did not close tightly. I responded that we did not clean this shade any differently from any other Luminette shade of any previous customers and had absolutely no complaining. I called *** *** and asked them specifically about cleaning characteristics of Luminette shades. They said the only way you could ruin this shade is with direct high temp. heat as in dry cleaning. I explained this to ** *** and her response was the same. At no point was this shade ever exposed to any high heat. To appease the customer I suggested we give it to another company (***) and clean the shade again using the same process. This was done and again the same cleaning technique was performed. It was reinstalled and the customer was not satisfied. I called *** *** ** and they confirmed using the exact same process. This was all done in the year 2014. One year later I received a call from customer in the spring of stating the shade still does not close tight enough to suit her. To resolve this I told her I would pick up shade and send it to *** *** for inspection. *** *** customer service called me after receiving shade and inspecting it. It was determined the stains and frays are from wear and tear and are not covered under warranty. After installing the shade for the 3rd time I reminded her of the disclaimer line that in no case shall the liability exceed the cost of the services rendered. To resolve I am willing to reimburse the cost of the cleaning of $
