I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID The stone wrapped columns were done because I was told that if I let them use the original post for the pergola, that had to be replaced, they would do this in order to cover up the holes that were drilled through the post approximately in up from the base It does not state in the contract about the sealing of the pergola or pavers but I was told on several occasions, which I provided, that this was going to be done It does state at the bottom of the contract any changes must be in writing but they broke this contract by not writing on it that the original copeing that I purchased, which I was told was a higher end copeing, would not be used and another one would be purchased If this company wants to hold customers to the letter of the contract they should also stick to it Maybe they should have someone who is more knowledgeable on drawing up contracts do theirs and clearly state what is to be done instead of writing one line descriptions and giving empty promises Since I am a retired military veteran I treat people honorably and as men of their word but I guess this company does not fall within this category I do not want them to come back out and finish this project because I have already had it done since I did not want my investment to be damaged by the elements All I want is for them to admit that they attempted to take advantage of a customer and did not follow through with what was promised both written and verbally Regards, [redacted]

There is no resolution to my
complaint in the companies response, only statements that they fulfilled all their obligations and have completed the job. I was verbally told by *** *** that once the project was started it should be completed within 1/- weeks. My wife was verbally told by the job foreman that the new coping that had to be used was not as high end coping as we ordered and was not as vibrant in color but he would seal it which would help bring out the colors. I was verbally told by *** *** that he would find out how much more the coping that we paid for was in comparison to the new coping and he would make up the difference at the end of the job. The pergola had to be redone because the original pergola had boards attached that were crooked, a missing roof rafter, several boards were split and gouged, the metal roof was all scratched up and had several holes in it were water would leak, the pergola was not squared and leaned when pressure was applied to the post which would have caused the entire structure to possible fall if we got high winds, half of the bolts holding it together were missing and half of the ones that were in were missing the nuts on them. They state that the original pergola did not have to be redone because it was within industrial standards. What type of industrial standards require someone to except a substandard and dangerous construction project just because the contractor is not trained and/or qualified to perform the job. There were no extra pavers used, the patio was constructed exactly the way the diagram was drawn up by *** ***. At the start of the project I was told by *** *** and the foreman that they would have to fill in the back side of my pool deck to make it even and was not sure what material would be needed until the current patio was removed. *** *** told me that worse case scenario was that they would have to put in a rumble wall so he would add that to my cost and if they did not have to use it the difference would be reimbursed at the end. So the cost of the rumble wall was figured into my cost from the beginning. I was told on several occasions that the sealing of my pergola and pavers was going to be taken care of and I have proof of this from text messages. I am attaching these to this letter for you review.

The stone wrapped columns were done because I was told that if I let them use the original post for the pergola, that had to be replaced, they would do this in order to cover up the holes that were drilled through the post approximately 15 in up from the base.  It does not state in the contract about the sealing of the pergola or pavers but I was told on several occasions, which I provided, that this was going to be done.   It does state at the bottom of the contract any changes must be in writing but they broke this contract by not writing on it that the original copeing that I purchased, which I was told was a higher end copeing, would not be used and another one would be purchased.  If this company wants to hold customers to the letter of the contract they should also stick to it.  Maybe they should have someone who is more knowledgeable on drawing up contracts do theirs and clearly state what is to be done instead of writing one line descriptions and giving empty promises.  Since I am a retired military veteran I treat people honorably and as men of their word but I guess this company does not fall within this category.  I do not want them to come back out and finish this project because I have already had it done since I did not want my investment to be damaged by the elements.  All I want is for them to admit that they attempted to take advantage of a customer and did not follow through with what was promised both written and verbally.

I hired Custom Outdoor Concepts to lay down pavers and build a large pavilion. I was told the job would be done in 2 weeks and it was. The workmen cleaned up the area each day. The quality of the work is top notch. I am extremely pleased with the end result and the company I chose.

Review: Custom Outdoor Concepts representative came out quickly, we discussed what I could do with my patio. Pavers were discussed and I agreed. I did say I didn't want them close to the bottom of the house. We also agreed upon a Fleur de lis paver which I paid a little extra for. They called to say the were on their way to do the work without any notice of when they would come, they placed the pavers right at the bottom of my house. They didn't have the Fleur de lis paver. I called several times about the paver since the work was done. I Was told they would get back with me and never had a return call. I felt like they were quick to get my money do the job without full instruction and once the work was done they were gone never to be heard from again. I would not have them do work on my house unless I was there watching everything they did. I still haven't received my Fleur de lis tileDesired Settlement: A refund for the tile or the tile

custom outdoor concepts recently constructed an outdoor kitchen in our backyard. It consisted of a covered pergola, kitchen area with bar and refrigerator. Additionally, they installed pavers with subsurface drainage in the entire backyard. All of this was done in ~ 2 weeks. Frank and his workers were cordial and professional throughout. We had an idea of what we wanted, but his guidance helped to pull it all together. We always had water issues back there, but after heavy rains this past weekend I can say it passed the test. NO WATER!!!! I am very pleased with this company and would recommend them if you're planning an outdoor area.

We hired Custom Outdoor Concepts to build a covered patio and a full outdoor bathroom off the back of our house. The project was completed on time, and the work was outstanding. Frank was incredibly responsive to our questions and concerns throughout the process, and both his workers and his subcontractors were knowledgeable, friendly, and talented. In particular, Mr. Delson (sp?), who installed the pavers, was impressively meticulous. Ashley, in the office, also was great about letting us know which workers where coming when so we could plan accordingly. We're very pleased with our new living space and have already enjoyed sharing it with family and friends.

Review: On Oct 11, 2014 I signed a contract to remodel my pool deck and build a cedar pergola which cost over $23,000.00. I was told this project would take 1-2 weeks to complete. We are now 12 weeks out and it is still not complete. There were constant problems along the way with material arriving and workers not arriving when they were supposed to. They were unable to use the new copping that we paid for and had to use a less expensive one which we were not pleased with the dullness of it. The foreman told us he would seal it which would bring out the colors more. Now they refuse to seal the copping. Everything is complete except the pergola columns which have holes drilled through the base and metal brackets exposed and the sealing of the copping. The foreman brought stones out to show me how it would look when finished. One month ago they came out for the final inspection and I showed them that the pergola columns were still not complete. I was told if I gave them the final payment they would get someone out to fix it. Two weeks ago I contacted them to find out when my project would be completed. They sent a worker out to put the backer boards around the base of the columns to attach the stones to and told me he would be back out in two days to finish. That was two weeks ago and no one has showed back up to finish. I have tried on several occasions to contact them with no response. I am very dissatisfied with the way this company has conducted business and the way I have been treated.Desired Settlement: I would like them to finish the project the way we were promised it would be with the materials that the foreman said would be used.

Review: We accepted a contract with Custom Outdoor Concepts and paid a $1000.00 deposit on Feb. 26, 2015. The contract was for COC to build a patio cover, install pavers, move a yard shed, and supply some electrical service to the patio area for an agreed price of $15,590.00. As agreed we paid an additional $5200.00 to COC on Mar. 23rd, 2015. No work was done until more than one (1) month later. I realize that during this time we did have some rainy days, but 5 weeks seems an inordinate amount of time to wait for work to begin. On April 30, 2015 a crew came out and installed the patio cover. There are a couple of minor problems with the way the cover was installed, regarding the failure to place some column bases on the columns. Before, the crew was finished the owner, Mr. [redacted] came to the house looking for another payment of $3900.00 which we paid. Since April 30th, there has been no additional work done on the project, in spite of several promises of work to begin made by the project manager, Mr. [redacted] To date we have paid 65% of the total amount for the project, but very little has been completed. The most recent promise was for paver materials to be delivered last Friday, May 8, 2015, but as of today, May 11, 2015 no materials have been delivered.Desired Settlement: To resolve this matter I would expect COC to come immediately to complete this job. I would also expect an apology from Mr. [redacted], and possibly a reduction in price for the inconvenience of having to wait so long for them to complete this project. In addition I expect the issue regarding the installation of the column bases to be resolved to my satisfaction.

The work to finish my patio has not been completed. The electrical work has not yet been started, and there are a few details of correction that the company must do to correct and clean up work already done. This job should have taken no more than 4 or 5 days to do from start to finish. It has been 2 months and it is still not complete. I get a lot of excuses about sub contractors not meeting expectations, but that is not my problem to solve , that is Custom Outdoor Concepts problem to solve. I am most disappointed in this company who I chose based on their A+ rating by the Revdex.com. My experience has been more of a "D" grade rather than "A+". I am hoping that their work will be completed sometime next week, but I am not counting on it. I am at a loss for how to get this company to finish my job.

Review: we contracted with this company in march of 2013 to build a pergulia, lay and install pavers and do drainage in our yard. the cost was $19,800. the project should have been finished a long time ago. we had to hire a civil engineer at a cost of almost $4ooo to correct the flooding that outdoor custom did not seem to be able to get right. to date the roof of the pergulia is still leaking after 3 or 4 attempts were made by outdoor concepts. about 60 per cent of the grouting for the pavers is not done right. phone calls and e mails to the company have been ignored.Desired Settlement: would like the lead to be handled and the grouting done right
