Review: We hired Custom Paint by Russell and Amy Sims on or about 24 September 2015 to paint the interior of our home on a job bid of $6,200.00, of which we paid a deposit of $3,100.00 on 1 October 2015. The painter was inconsistent in her presence on the job: the first week cancelled due to weather (28 Sep-2 Oct), the first three days of the second week cancelled for one reason or another (5-7 Oct), and the first two days of the third week cancelled for various reasons (12-13 Oct), with a late show on 14 Oct. The work completed to date is not of acceptable quality and with such inconsistent performance on the job I issued a stop work order on 14 Oct with the intent to discuss corrective action with the painter. Since the stop work order was issued, the painter has been extremely unresponsive such that we have now requested a refund of $2,100.00 with no intent to continue working with this painter. To date, the painter has failed to satisfactorily discuss corrective action or provide the requested refund. While we do not desire to enter into litigation over this matter, if it cannot be resolved we will be forced to do so. It is our hope that with Revdex.com assistance we can avoid litigation.Desired Settlement: Give the poor quality of work and the inconsistent performance of this company, we desire a refund in the amount of $2,100.00 from the $3,100.00 deposit paid. We believe this resolution very reasonable considering all we have experienced with this company, from unacceptable quality of work to unprofessional service, a disrupted home, and the fact that we will now need to hire another painter to correct the poor work done to date and complete the job this company was hired to perform.
