Custom Projects Inc. Reviews (1)

This was one of the worst examples of unprofessional behavior, as well as over-promising and under-delivering, that I have ever encountered. I was refered to this company to have a very simple, small metal track fabricated. I was informed to drive to the company's location and it would be done while I waited. Once I arrived, I was informed that they were tied-up and it would be done Monday. When I called Monday, I was told that it would be done Tuesday. I gave them an additional day and called Wednesday. I was told they were short staffed and to call Friday when it would be ready. When I called Friday, I was told that it was not working correctly and that they were backed-up. Understanding that my order was small, I was very appreciative and did not push although my project was completely stopped until this part was completed. Over the course of an entire month, I found myself being delayed, strung-along and inundated with every excuse imaginable. I also found myself making suggestions to the extent of literally telling the manager ([redacted]) how to do his job. After each phone call/suggestion, I was promised that it, "would be done", "no problem", that he, "could handle it", "that should work", "it will be ready tomorrow", etc, etc. When I asked repeatedly if I could come by to see all of the trials that, "did not work", I was told each time that it was not a good time to stop by. It was obvious that NO work had been done as claimed. In the end, I moved on with another company. I called and asked that a small part, that I had left with the manager, be mailed to me. It was 1" by 1/2" and easily fit into an envelope with regular postage. The day before, I was told that would be, "no problem". When I called to check if it had been mailed, I was told that it would, "not mail well". After inquiring more, I was told the truth that the owner had refused to mail it even after all that I had been through. I was refused access to the owner. When I finally spoke to him, I was cussed-out.Desired SettlementThe small part that was left, should be mailed back to me, as committed, with an apology from the owner.Business Response When Mr. [redacted] first contacted our company he said that he had a roller that he bought from [redacted] and needed a track formed. He could not provide us with any dimensions, so he was told to bring it by and talk with our manager that day to see if we could fabricate the track. We didn't hear from him for+++1 several days. He came by on a Friday afternoon without an appointment. When our manager saw what he had and was told what he wanted fabricated, he told him that the bends were too tight for us to fabricate. Our manager then asked if he could not buy this track from [redacted] since they supply the roller. Mr. [redacted] said no and changed some of his dimensions. Our manager told him he would try it to see if it would work. The following week we tried several different methods with no success. Mr. [redacted] didn't check back with us until the middle of the week and was informed that we could not fabricate what he wanted. His "telling us how to do our job" was asking us to try it with different dimensions. Each time he was told we couldn't fabricate what he wanted. The time we spent on Mr. [redacted] cost us hundreds of dollars that he wasn't charged for or asked to pay. On the last day we heard from him he told us he found what he needed at Lowe's. He asked if we could mail his $2.00 roller back to him. Our mail carrier told us due to the shape and thickness we would have to go to the post office for special packaging and postage. We told Mr. [redacted] that we were not going to spend any more time on this project and if he wanted his roller he could come pick it up. He then became very agitated and continually called our business every few seconds. He would harass our secretary and hang up in her face. When she told him to quit calling us he said, "I can play this game all day." She began ignoring his calls when she saw his number on caller i.d. He then blocked his number and continued to call. This went on for several hours causing a disruption in the operation of our business. At no time was Mr. [redacted] promised anything from our manager or put off for weeks or an entire month. We only had dealings with him for approximately one and a half weeks. As for being refused access to the owner and then being cussed-out, this never happened.
