customer has just purchased vehicle and brought to us for oil change. when we initially checked oil the top of the dipstick did break off, to no fault of ours as it is just a plastic piece and these things do happen, however not admitting fault we did offer to replace the dipstick at no charge...
to customer. the customer did come back in Saturday screaming at us because here clear coat on front bumper was peeling. customer has 2 cracks and splits in bumper that she herself acknowledges were there when she purchased the vehicle. the clear coat is peeling from where it is cracked, she claims it wasn't like that before and we had to have spilled oil or something on it to cause it. there is nothing in our shop that I could do or use to create clear coat to bubble and peel. the clear coat is clearly coming us at the point of impact where she knows the damage was there prior. midas is not at fault for this bumper and were actually not at fault for the dipstick either.
I have responded to this but evidently it didn't take. I have tried several times to contact the customer to no avail... It is my understanding that yes somehow there was an empty bottle left in engine compartment that thankfully caused no damage. There was a cleanup done of debris but...
no oil had leaked, no damage caused, and no further issues. I would still be happy to contact customer and net in person to look at it together
