In April we were called by the ***’s to solve several issues including some grading and screening view of the rear propertyAfter a design and an estimate was completed we negotiated a cash price for the project to be completedOnce the project was completed our salesman Mike met with
Mrs*** to review the work and pick up the final payment and discuss any upkeep and maintenance of the plantingsThe ***’s were very happy with the completed project. Sometime after the ***’s called about the two Spruce tree’s lower branchesMike visited the site and informed them that they should reduce the amount of watering being done and he also said that a few of the lower branches needed to be removed(due to damage during the transport of the trees) Before our technician could get over to take the problem the owner had removed the branches. Later that Summer (late August) the they called again stating the trees were dead and not looking goodMike went out to the property and found an insect infestation of Red Spider Mites were causing some damageUnfortunately the ***’s were not home and Mike left a door hanger (which the owner did not get for some reason) We also called and left a voice message to inform them as to what we found and that they needed to call the company who does their fertilizing of the lawn and shrubs to treat for the mitesNothing was done about the spider mites issue which is not covered under our guaranteeWe do not spray or treat insects or mites. Mrs*** called our Office in February stating the trees are deadMike again went out to the property and again no one was homeHe called Mrs*** to explain to her that the two trees are not deadOur guarantee covers the plants and trees for one season if they dieThese tree’s are not dead but have damage due to the spider mites that were not treatedShe claims we never told her “she had to have them” treated but we did and again we do not treat and spray for insectsShe suggested that maybe the trees came with the mites and I explained to her that the nursery we purchase from has plant material inspected every 4-weeks and is done by ODNR they cannot sell plant material infested with mitesWe order the plant material and have it delivered to our site within a day or so of the installation date. We did offer to replace the tree’s at our cost of $each or both for $1,That was unacceptable to Mrs***
