Cuzins Outdoors Reviews (2)

I went to Cuzins outdoors to get my Open Water Certification which cost 450 dollars. I completed all the requirements for my dive times and passed ** course as of October 29th 2013. I immediately sent an email over to the instructor [redacted]. He did not respond at first so I attempted to call the office which I received my training. There were no answers and the voicemail was full. I sent another email in which [redacted] responded too. He said he would let Robin know, A couple more weeks went by ,in which, each week I was calling and leaving a message. It was not until finally I got through to Corey who said he would let Robin know. Another week went by and then I finally called NAUI the issuing certifier whom Cuzins deals with for certifying their divers. They informed me that no attempt had been made to get my certification on record or to submit any of my dive times to complete the certification. Finally on December 13th NAUI called Robin who told them that she had no idea I had completed the course. Despite me emailing [redacted] and talking to Corey who both said they had informed Robin. Finally on December 13th the information was submitted and my card was sent out on December 13th and confirmed as received by December 17th. It has been two weeks since this time in which they still do not respond to phone calls. I have launched a complaint with NAUI and am now launching a complaint with the Revdex.com. I have paid for something and completed all the requirements only to be held hostage. At first this company seemed reasonable and they even gave military discounts as I spent well over 2000 dollars between gear and certification. It was appreciated that they offered discounts, but it does not excuse the fact of the lack of customer service and not even being able to return a phone call. Which usually should take at most 3 days, I gave them a week between each time I called. I am launching this complaint as a last resort to receive the item I paid for and to warn others to stay away from this business.Product_Or_Service: NAUI Open Water CertificationAccount_Number: Account: LocsphereDesired SettlementThe desired settlement is my NAUI Open Water Certification Card either mailed to me, or to refund the purchase price of my NAUI Certification so I can go elsewhere and do all the work I have already done once all over again. The company Cuzins outdoors needs to make this right and I have given plenty of opportunities for them to do so by simply calling me. Final Consumer Response Hello Christina Price, My name is [redacted], I have finally received the item I paid for after months of trying to get a phone call returned and email returned. The item that I have asked for time and time again has finally arrived. Although I have a huge problem with the lack of return phone calls, not answering phone during business hours, or return of emails as well as delays in receiving my certification. Although I have a huge problem with the lack of customer service and terrible business practices and their lack of communication forced me to get a replacement card directly from their certifying organization costing me additional funds it should not have. I have received the item I have paid for, if there is a means the Revdex.com to warn others of the bad business practices of this company to warn others I think it should be done, but at this point. My complaint and its resolution has been satisfied and no further action is required. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me via email or phone. Best, [redacted] D. Broken Appointment for lake dive and class. Showed up to a empty building even after confirming with place that we were scheldule to come down. This Complaint is really how the buisness is run because the[redacted] and people that run it like[redacted] have been very nice and helpful....once you get a hold of them that is! Getting in contact with this place via phone or email is alot harder then it should be! Also been stood up twice (once for a lake dive and another for a group class)Sorry this may be long and it's not even all of what I and my fiancée had to go through to try to get scuba certified with this facility which we still have not! To start I bought a living social coupon for me and my fiancée to get Scuba Certification at this venue. We started late last year and were halfway through our certification and just needed to do our lake dives before winter hit. After our pool dives we schedule an appointment to do the lake dives but on that day no one showed and there was no reply to our constant voicemails that we left to see where they were (waited over half an hour in their parking lot and still no one showed so we had to head back home which was a 30-40 minute drive). After that day and throughout the weeks I constantly called and emailed the scuba place and left messages with [redacted] at the shop to have the instructor contact us since we need to get certified before our June honeymoon and really need to do these lake dives. Several month and emails later the actual owner by email got back to us and told us to come on down on Friday for a refresher course which we assume we could also verify that they schedule our lake dives even though we scheduled the lake dives through email with the actual owner who emailed me back with "Sounds Good". We went back last Friday (April 4th 2014) to do the refresher course and make sure we were scheduled for the lake dives. We Along with several other couples that came for class that night waited over 30 minutes at the dark and empty scuba place while leaving messages after messages with [redacted] who per the sign on the door was the one to contact since the main person there was dealing with her father's health issues. All our calls went straight to voice mail and we yet to hear from the scuba place regarding what happen. This was the second time we were "stood up" and the last straw for me and my fiancée. With the honeymoon close by and constantly wasting gas just to arrive to a empty building we had no choice but to go with another place to get certified which we now need to pay out of pocket for again! So I really hoping to be reimbursed for the $350 that I paid through living social to get certified. We only have 2 month to get certified before our honeymoon which we will be scuba diving on. We are hoping to get that money back so we can pay the other scuba certification place so we can get certified for our honeymoon!!Desired Settlement$350 for the courseWe got "Crew Packs" (Scuba book/CD, Materials) too for about $95 each (Total: $190) but hopefully we can use that material to get certified at the other place so we would like at least the $350 we paid for the course so we can pay the other Scuba Certification course place.
