reviewed/researched this matter and would like you to know that this matter has been resolved and all funds have been released back to the client. Here is a summary of calls to the Los Angeles Tax Collector and communication with the client: This business closed escrow on September 30, 2016, and a portion of the seller's funds were held in escrow pending verification from the Tax Collector that certain taxes had clearedSeller received her proceeds via overnight (GSO) delivery 10/1/The Los Angeles County Tax Collector was notified by certified mail on 9/14/that Escrow needed a written release for Tax ClearanceNumerous calls were made to the tax collector after closing to follow up. 12/13/emailed the client apologizing for the delay and provided her with proof that Tax Office had received our request and that I would place another call; 12/14/@3:39pm called tax office and held until I spoke to Ms Clemmons and explained to her that I had requested a tax release on 9/14/and still no reply - hung up and called back and spoke to *** @ Tax Office of the urgency- I called client on 12/16/with update; 3/16/@ 4:I called and spoke to *** *** and she apologized that *** *** had retire and that she will work on the request; 3/16/@ 4:left VM for client with my update with Tax Collector; 5/23/I called and spoke to *** at Tax Collector again went through the whole history and frustration that I'm having problems getting a reply and provided her with copy of my fax to *** and that Buyer and Seller were upset that I was still holding funds pending receipt of tax clearance; 5/23/emailed client that I had talked with *** @ Tax Office; 9/12/I called and spoke to *** again; 9/13/I received a fax from tax collector, which referred me to the Business assessor department; 9/13/@ 1:pm - I called the business assessor and spoke to *** she explained to me that the Business is assessed for $2,but assessment is so low that there is NO billing to client since when billings stopped; 9/13/@ 2:I left VM for client letting her know that I would be releasing funds today; 9/13/I released remaining funds to Buyer and Seller, which were sent via overnight (GSO) delivery service for their receipt the next day 9/13/per below clients responded The Escrow Office did apologize to the clients, letting them know that she felt very badly that it took so long to return the funds and that perhaps her follow up with the Tax Collector could have been better.
