I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
I have reviewed the statement made by CWD and find there are several incorrect statements made by the company.
Inaccuracies in the business response-Paragraph 2- I did not request an invoice at the completion of the work; an invoice was handed to me at the job completion so that I could pay. When I reviewed the bill, I commented on the price stating that I was told it would be $900- $the actual bill was $300- $more that that priceTheservice rep, ***, stated that this bill included taxMy response was "not including tax, it is $300- $more than what he (***) told me onSaturdayHe responded that this is the price he was given by the companyI requested to speak with the *** and *** called his officeMy call withthe office can be read in the original complaintBasically I was told the bill is "as stated". Paragraph 2-I was never quoted a price of $plus taxOn Saturday, when I requested an estimate, I was verbally told by *** $900- $plus tax.Paragraph 3- I contacted *** early Saturday to advise him that the dehumidifier was not working*** had me unplug, replug and turn on the unit.Advised him it was still not workingHe said try again which I did and told him still not workingHis response was that he could not replace the unituntil SundayThere was no point in contacting the company when the water heater problem occurred since I was already advised that they would not comeuntil Sunday.Paragraph 3- The blower was not pointed anywhere near the furnace since the furnace is NOT in the basement; it is three levels upThe blower was notpointed at the water heater but as demonstrated by *** ***, the air was bouncing off of the large items near the heater and wall and bouncing back tothe heater *** *** shut the blower off and turned it back on to demonstrate how the air was be deflected to the pilotSunday morning, a few hours beforeCWD came, my plumber came to make certain that the water heater was not damaged in the floodingThe plumber relit the water heater pilot light He, theplumber, performed the same test turning blower on and off etcthat *** *** did and stated that the pilot was probably blown out by the blowerTheplumber's explanation of the deflected air was the same as what *** *** statedThe plumber recommended the blower not be turned back on to prevent theproblem from occurring again Two hours after the plumber left, CWD arrived to re-position the equipment and replace the inoperable dehumidifier. My husband told CWD that *** *** and the plumber advised not to use the blower so that the pilot is not blown out again My husband stated thatCWD could remove that particular blowerAs stated in the original complaint, *** from CWD told my husband that insurance companies required the equipmentto remain three days at which point my husband replied that we probably would not go through insuranceThe blower was left in place; fortunately, the pilotwas not blown out again as we moved some of the items which may have caused the air to deflect Paragraph 4- CWD did not arrive at my house until Friday, 6:pm; this is evening not afternoon One dehumidifier unit was not working for morethan hrs while at my house*** was advised of the nonworking status early Saturday and the replacement was not brought until 1pm SundaySoof the 3/days that I had CWD equipment, all equipment was not functioning for at least hrsI therefore, was paying for equipment that was nonoperable for 24+ hours. Paragraph 5- I did sign the Certificate of Completion and did check off "yes" for "Are you satisfied with the work that was done".Yes, I am satisfied with the work because my basement is dryUnder comments, I indicated my dissatisfaction with the job price because of the nonworkingequipment and the problem with the blower and my water heater The Certificate was actually given to me prior to the billWhen I received thebill and was told rudely that it is "as stated", I changed my answer to "would you use our company again" from yes to no and stated undercomments my reason for changing the answer which was the issue with the price, non working equipment and blower causing a problem with my water heater. From my comments, you can see that CWD, "the business", has several inaccuracies in their response to Revdex.com AS I stated in my initialresponse, I did not expect CWD to reimbursement any of the charged amount even though the sum in rather insignificant, just over $My purpose in writingthis complaint is so that my comments can be listed by Revdex.comHopefully, the next person who is in need of a water restoration company will view my comments anddecide not to use a company who is rude (the *** not *** who was pleasant), does not honor their verbal estimates, is not fast in replacinginoperable equipment and who charges for inoperable equipment time. The homeowner, [redacted] contacted us on January *, 2015 to respond to an emergency water damage cleanup. That same day, on an emergency basis, CWD responded. We provided drying...

equipment at the homeowner's request. We also replaced one of the dehumidifiers which [redacted] indicated was not working properly. [redacted] requested an invoice at the completion of the work as she was unsure if she would pursue a claim through her homeowner's insurance company. She was quoted a price of 1500 plus tax. [redacted] never contacted our office to complain that one of CWD's turbo air movers allegedly blew out her pilot light. Please note that the air movers were installed and functioning on Friday Jan. * and [redacted] is alleging the pilot light blew out on the following day? Upon further investigation, it was determined that the air mover was not pointed nor in the area of the furnace (furthermore, per [redacted], [redacted] stated that the air mover "probably" blew out the pilot light). This is an assumption on [redacted]'s part without concrete evidence.[redacted] was charged for only 3 days of drying although the equipment was onsite and operating from the afternoon of Friday January * up to the afternoon of Tuesday January **. Thus, she received a substantial discount. Furthermore, [redacted] signed a Certificate of Completion and Satisfaction indicating that she was satisfied with the work performed.

The customer executed a written contract agreeing to the amount charged and sign a certificate of completion and satisfaction indicating that she was satisfied with the work performed. As far as CWD is concerned, this matter is closed. The customer is not due nor will be receiving any sort of refund.

CWD immediately responded to a flooded basement within my home. They removed the water, dried out the area and made me and my family feel very comfortable. Hard to tell I even had a flood.

Review: Resulting from a burst pipe, my plumber recommended we use CWD of Hicksville, Inc. CWD service personnel arrived Friday evening at 6:16pm which was the time promised. I had already removed the 185 gallons of water from the area. The restoration company brought in 2 dehumidifiers and 4 fans (blowers) to dry out the area. They stated that they would be back on Saturday or Sunday to reposition the equipment. Saturday morning, I discovered that one of the dehumidifiers was not working. I called the company who suggested I unplug, replug and turn on the unit. After following their instructions, I advised them that the error message was still showing on their equipment and that it was still not working. They stated that a service rep would come on Sunday to replace the dehumidifier with a working unit. I also asked for the estimate of this job to determine whether we want to make an insurance claim. I was told that the cost would be $900- 1000. Saturday after spending several hours throwing out wet items, I took a shower; there was no hot water. My husband who had been at work all day smelled what seemed to be a gas leak coming from the basement. [redacted] was called to determine the reason for the gas smell. The gas tech stated that the blower placed by CWD had probably blown the pilot on the water heater out. The gas smell was caused when I showered. [redacted] repositioned the blower. The pilot was re-lit. Sunday at 1pm CWD returned. My husband suggested that they remove a blower so that we would not have another water heater problem; he was advised by CWD that the insurance company requires that they keep the blowers on site for three days. My husband advised them that we might not put an insurance claim through. CWD replaced the inoperable dehumidifier with a working one; additionally they repositioned all of the blowers. They were scheduled to return on Tuesday at 3pm to remove their equipment. (I work Tuesday till 2pm) At 2pm, my daughter called me to advise me that CWD was there and were removing the equipment. I quickly got home and was presented with an invoice for $1444.71. When I questioned the amount being vastly different from the estimate, I was told that the invoice included tax. I pointed out that the price without tax was still $300+ more than quoted. The service rep said he did not determine the price so I asked him to call the company owner. The [redacted] advised me that the price is "as stated" and he "only charged for 3 days". I pointed out that one dehumidifier was not working for more than 24 hrs and that the fan had blown out my water heater pilot causing venting gas which required [redacted] to come. The [redacted] stated "too bad, it is what it is".Desired Settlement: though I doubt anything will be done (not because of Revdex.com), I feel an adjustment in price should be made to honor the estimate of $900- 1000.
