I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]The business has made statements about the billing and created invoices in order to attempt to charge us more moneyThis complaint will remain unsettled. Regards,*** ***

Mr. & Mrs. [redacted] received an estimate for his
kitchen to be remodeled. In the original estimate, no flooring was to be
completed because the owner's did not want to disturb existing
flooring.  While demo was taking place, we found there had been a leak
under the...

refrigerator that seeped through the tile joints and went under tile
causing water damage and mold to the subfloor.  I showed what had occurred
to Mr. [redacted] and since the tiles had came loose we were able to
see that the subfloor had been damaged and mold was present.  He agreed
that it needed to be replaced and we made a verbal agreement to move forward
and make the repair's.  Besides the materials to repair the
subfloor,  some of the tiles couldn't be used and had to purchase
additional ones as well.  There is a reason they call it an
"ESTIMATE".....    NO contractor nor homeowner has
x-ray vision and can see behind walls and underneath floors to know what is
there.  Maybe [redacted] hasn't watched enough HGTV but things pop up all the
time, therefore, we give an "ESTIMATE"   Besides the repair
that needed to be addressed, [redacted] had made a few changes as well. (1) [redacted]
asked for 2 pendants to be installed above island which involved roughing
in wiring and adding a switch since there was no existing lighting  (2)
Asked to have ceiling painted 2 coats.  (3) Additional outlet between
stove and fridge. I was working long days/nights and some weekends to get job
done faster than expected and everything was going just fine until
discovering a damaged cabinet.  The first time wasn't such a big deal
since other things were being done while waiting on the replacement to
arrive.  When the new cabinet arrived, I went over to install and sure
enough, it was damaged too. Now, we were at a point that nothing else
could be done until we had a cabinet that wasn't damaged.  I couldn't
just sit around at that point and wait a couple weeks until a new
cabinet arrived without having some sort of an income, so I started
another job and the [redacted]'s completely understood and agreed.
Christmas was coming up and days before, the cabinet arrived so I left the
other job I started and went over right away and installed the cabinet so
the counter top guys could get in and install the tops.  I told [redacted] that
I only had 2-3 days left to complete the job that I started and that I would
then be back after Christmas to finish up and YES his kitchen was
functional.  Much to my surprise, after all the delays and problems I
had to deal with, along with no compensation, I was to BLAME...
Very disappointed by [redacted]'s actions, I then found out about his drug abuse
to steroids and his conviction which put him in prison and losing his
job as a police officer/undercover drug officer.  I then
understood why he had had so much anger and aggression.  Even after how
I was treated, right after Christmas and during the time I would have
used to have spent time with my family, I went back and finished the job
quietly and efficiently, assuming I would be paid in
full .  Even though I was upset by his actions, I couldn't keep
myself from doing a quality job. [redacted], in his complaint, said he had to
cancel 2 parties??  Now that I know, is faux...   [redacted] and
his wife both had told me about the party his wife was having for
some of her co workers and right after, his wife had told me how everyone had
loved how it was coming and that her boss wanted my
number to have me look at her kitchen. Matter of fact, his
wife gave an employee and myself some left over cookies that were
from the party.  I am not surprised by the constant lies, and
after all that I've done and going the extra mile, he refuses to
pay.  I will also be sending all the estimates and final invoices I
have presented to the [redacted]'s.  Until I am paid, IN FULL, I will not
be releasing the mechanic's lien I have placed on their home.  [redacted]
