With the Covid-19 going around during this time, 99% of gyms have paused people's memberships till they are up and working and providing business again. CycleBar CDA and their other company Pure Barre CDA (same owner) is continuing to collect their membership dues during this time. Some of these unlimited memberships cost $170 a month at both studios and she is still collecting while not providing a service or being open during this time. Yes, they are doing some live streaming classes but people who do not have bikes at home are still not able to use this service and still having to make these payments. It is not our fault that the studios are closed and we can not workout, but while most of us are out of jobs and trying to make other ends meet she is claiming she is a "small business," which she is not, they are both a franchise.
Thank you for taking my call the other day - so glad we could connect and work out the details of our COVID relief options for clients while our studios are closed. We understand it's difficult to reach our entire client base with emails and social media posts, but have done our best to make sure communication is sound - giving each client options while the studio has transitioned to digital offerings vs in-studio classes. We sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding and would've absolutely been able to clear this up with an earlier conversation - so don't hesitate to reach out with any and all questions moving forward.
We feel for our entire fitness community and absolutely want them foremost; healthy, and also comfortable with the membership options. All clients have the option to pause memberships or cancel at this time, but most of our client base has requested to keep their dues active so they can have access to the live streaming classes daily. We have intentionally created programming that works for home workouts in the comfort of our clients' home during this stay home mandated order.
As a small local business owner - I am lucky to have invested in brands that deliver the highest quality workouts for our community; that is why I brought these brands to our town - because I believe in them and what they can do for our fitness and overall health. I am, and will always, be dedicated to protecting our community and delivering the best options we can. We would never put clients in a financial bind. I am present and work in the studios every single day to make sure our quality is at the standard I expect as an owner.
