My company does insurance work and we are bound by the insurance estimateUnless the homeowner wants to pay for upgraded items, all we do within reason is what the insurance company itemizesThe cost to the chimneyas absorbed by my company but cost $which I paid to my rooferIt wasn't caused by my roofers and again was a builder defect in installation. The items that Mr [redacted] is referencing is NOT an item that was caused by my roofersI did agree to do a couple items as Mr [redacted] stated but they were not caused by my roofersThe (small) hole in the plywoodis a builder flaw and not covered by insuranceIt was a hole designed to fit a water heater flu pipe through and the trade that installed the water heater put it in a different place in the atticWe covered it with felt papernd installed the new roof over itIt will not leak and that fix is procedureThe home owner had spoken about keeping his expense down before the roof was installed and no real repair was warranted. The flashing was re-nailed and caulked as a procedureNothing was wrong with the flashing and insurance estimate did not require replacement and again would have been a substantial cost upgrade to the owner. If Mr [redacted] wants to replace it, I will be glad to remedy the small hole in the plywood and replace the flashing at a nominal cost of $Final payment is expected with in days as late charges will occur and or a Mechanics Lien will be filed with the court system through my attorney as permitted by the State Of Texas.Thank you.Edward [redacted] - Cypress Roofing

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.
Two edges of the chimney edges were damaged by the roofers when they removed the old shingles.  His email said that he spent $600 on the chimney not $750.  The 6 x 4 hole in the plywood was not there before replacing the roof and it was not designed to fit a water heater flu pipe. You can tell that someone did damage it.  It was caused by his roofers when they removed the satellite dish.  The contractor saw the hole and admitted that was caused by his roofer. He also agreed to repair it.  The contractor said that the roofers supposed to replace the plywood instead of covering it felt paper.  The contractor also sent another roofer to take a look at the damaged items. The roofer also said that they supposed to replace the plywood and replace the old flashing.  The flashings look awful with the nails and black tar on them.  The contractor mentioned that he can submit supplement forms for any over cost to the insurance company. The contractor promised to repair these items.  He can check his emails and messages. He did agree to give $700 credit if I he could post his business sign in my front yard. I had his sign posted in my front yard for three months.  We shook hands before the roof was installed. I took his words and trusted him.  He can keep the $700 credit he promised me, repair the hole in the plywood and replace the old flashing as he agreed.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.   Subject: Re: Regarding Complaint #[redacted] - Cypress RoofingComplaint ID # [redacted]- Cypress RoofingHiThe problem has been resolved.  Finally, the contractor sent his roofer yesterday. The roofer repaired the hole and painted the flashing. I mailed the contractor a check for the balance on the roof install today.Regards,[redacted]

My company does insurance work and we are bound by the insurance estimate. Unless the homeowner wants to pay for upgraded items, all we do within reason is what the insurance company itemizes. The cost to the chimneyas absorbed by my company but cost $750.00 which I paid to my roofer. It wasn't...

caused by my roofers and again was a builder defect in installation. The items that Mr. [redacted] is referencing is NOT an item that was caused by my roofers. I did agree to do a couple items as Mr [redacted] stated but they were not caused by my roofers. The (small) hole in the plywoodis a builder flaw and not covered by insurance. It was a hole designed to fit a water heater flu pipe through and the trade that installed the water heater put it in a different place in the attic. We covered it with felt papernd installed the new roof over it. It will not leak and that fix is normal procedure. The home owner had spoken about keeping his expense down before the roof was installed and no real repair was warranted. The flashing was re-nailed and caulked as a normal procedure. Nothing was wrong with the flashing and insurance estimate did not require replacement and again would have been a substantial cost upgrade to the owner. If Mr [redacted] wants to replace it, I will be glad to remedy the small hole in the plywood and replace the flashing at a nominal cost of $900.00. Final payment is expected with in 15 days as late charges will occur and or a Mechanics Lien will be filed with the court system through my attorney as permitted by the State Of Texas.Thank you.Edward [redacted] - Cypress Roofing
