I am rejecting this response because:  We hired competent contractors to install the deck and feel it was installed correctly.  The warping, slintering, discoloration and mildew is due to a faulty product.   We clean the deck every fall and spring.   Trex is a faulty product and has had a class action law suit in which people who bought the product were awarded a cash settlement.  The pictures I sent to the company show exactly what has happened in 10 years.   The company offered a 25 year warranty and they don't stand behind their warranty or the product they sell.   They now have added a protective shell that supposedly protects it from mildew which also proves they sold me a faulty product. Our contractor and the retailer that sold Trex, no longer carry this product or install them because of all the complaints they have had.   My advice to anyone who reads this....NEVER INSTALL TREK DECKING!!!!!

As stated in our prior response, our Limited Warranty provides for replacement or refund of purchase price, but excludes payment of labor expenses to install the replacement decking.  The amount that the homeowner refers to of $7,845 was from the original contract with the contractor who built the deck.  This amount includes both the materials and the labor to install them.  Under our Limited Warranty, we are not responsible for labor.  The amount we have offered of $3,000 is well in excess of the retail price of replacement material.
