Mr. [redacted] was hired by us to put in a shower stall with sliding doors in our restroom. This included building a wall, bumping a wall out and moving the drain line. We had already purchased a shower kit that when he went install it had the wrong size base, so he informed us that he could get the right size shower at a cheaper price using his contractors discount. He started the other work that began to take longer and longer. We requested the receipt for the shower several times which got us suspicious when he would not provide it and kept coming up with a story. Then he started saying he was coming over at a certain time and then not show up. Finally we called him and said we had enough to bring us the receipt and he was done. He never showed up. We called [redacted] where he got the shower and they would not give us a receipt, but we did go there acting like we were interested in a shower that looked similar to ours and found out it went for around $650. We gave him $1550.00 for the shower + $1100 up front and were to pay another $1100 upon completion; on top of that the shower has a flaw. Now we are stuck with hiring someone else to put the doors on and we finished the dry walling ourselves, So as the saying goes "beware of Greeks bearing gifts" and make sure you talk to previous customers before hiring someone for this type of work.
