Hired the guy twice. First time decent enough work which is why I hired him for a second job. This time I hired him, I asked him to finish a job I started. I had no problem he charged me full price. I needed it done on a time table. I had all materials on site, even let him use my tools since they were out, and made the run to Lowes so he could keep working. Some vinyl siding broke in the process. No big deal, it happens, I get it! They were out of stock at Lowes, he said he would come back and finish the next day. I paid him for the job due to a prior dealing, and this siding was an important but small enough detail I figured he'd keep his word ... that was 28 days ago! I get that he got sick (three weeks ago - but he could have fixed it before he got sick like he said), then he went out of town (two weeks ago), but he has blown two other "I'll swing by tomorrow(s)" to fix this in the last 14 days. I've been more than polite and nice, because I'm human, I get forgetting once, getting sick, out of town travel for family. So I was courteous, and every time (at least two to three more times) he said he'll come by and finish he hasn't. Now he isn't taking my calls or returning my text messages. I also discovered when I went to use my sawzaw I loaned him (because it was already out from me using it earlier, just to help speed up the job) he'd cut the wiring near in two and didn't bother letting me know. I am meticulous about my tools. I know this cut wasn't on there. Don't hire the guy. He isn't professional enough to keep his word, or adult enough to tell you he damaged one of your tools I'm taking this on the chin bcause I was foolish enough to let him borrow it, but I can at least let people know that if he hides something like this, what else is he hiding about his work ethics. His work is okay, but only okay. Since I found my tool damaged, I went in to inspect his job a little bit better. I discovered the sub-floor hadn't been screwed down as well as it is supposed to be. So, like I said ... only okay. I would only hire for a small projects that don't require a lot of finesse or precision, maybe a rabbit pen or chicken coop! Just make sure you watch his work or inspect before paying, and don't pay him until the job is completely done. Also, I did not see his other horrible reviews or would never had hired him.

Douglas Chavis and Nancy Sparks of D and N Home Improvements, Fayetteville, NC were hired to perform the following work to the exterior of 2083 Loganberry Drive: Paint all wood trim and vinyl siding, pressure wash and paint, replace rotten siding on two dormers. Replace boots on the roof. Replace brick mold. Repair window sills and replaces all rotten wood on windows. Replace two bead boards on the house and sand and paint them. Douglas Chavis and Nancy Sparks severely diluted the paint, replaced no rotten wood, used caulk to cover the rotten wood, painted over rotten wood, dripped white paint on the exterior brick and concrete driveway, failed to replace roof boots (house still leaks), and failed to replace rotten dormer siding. The only item completed to standard was the pressure washing of the deck; the remainder of their shoddy work has to be redone.
